Framingham State Rams Football, 41-9 Victory Over Plymouth State

FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University defense forced a pair of turnovers and held Plymouth State to just three field goals on 112 yards of total offense as the Rams defeated the Panthers 41-9 in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) football match-up at Framingham’s Bowditch Field.

The Rams improve to 6-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in MASCAC action at 5-0, while the Panthers fall to 1-6 overall and are still in search of their first conference victory at 0-5.

FSU Football Wins 21-14 Over UMass Dartmouth

FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University defense forced four turnovers by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth including a sack fumble by senior defensive end Chevere Archer (Lynn, Mass.) with 2:02 remaining in the game as the Rams defeated the Corsairs 21-14 in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) football contest this afternoon at Framingham’s Bowditch Field.

The Rams remain unbeaten in the MASCAC at 3-0 and improve to 4-1 overall, while the Corsairs slip to 1-3 on the year and are now 1-2 in the conference. (more…)

FSU Football Cruises to 30-0 Victory over UMass Dartmouth

Framingham, MA – Framingham State University senior wide receiver Tyrone Figueroa accounted for a pair of touchdowns as the Rams shutout the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth this afternoon and picked up a 30-0 win in a New England Football Conference (NEFC) cross divisional game at Framingham’s Bowditch Field.

The Rams, who last recorded a shutout on October 1st, 2010 in a 26-0 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy, improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Corsairs are still in search of their first victory of the year as they drop to 0-3.

FSU Football Takes Bogan Division in 14-7 Win over Coast Guard

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Framingham State University Sophomore running back Melikke Van Alstyne carried 39 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns as the FSU Rams football team clinched its first ever New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division title with a 14-7 win over Coast Guard on a bitter cold, windy and rainy day at Maple Street Field.

With the win, Framingham improves to 7-2 overall and 6-0 in the Bogan Division, while Coast Guard dropped its fifth game this season by seven points or less as they are now 1-7 overall and 1-5 in the division.

With his 180 yards in the game, Van Alstyne established a new FSU single season rushing mark as he now has 1,399 yards on the season which surpasses (more…)

FSU Football Bests Westfield State 27-24

FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University football team stopped Westfield State on 4th down with 28 seconds remaining to hold off the Owls and pick up a 27-24 victory this afternoon in New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division action at Maple Street Field.

With the win, the Rams improve to 6-2 on the season and remain undefeated in the division at 5-0. The loss drops the Owls to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the Bogan Division.

Sophomore quarterback Dino Mancinelli (Madison, Conn.) completed 19 of 35 passes for 274 yards with a touchdown and an interception, while senior wide receiver James McCarthy (Newton, Mass.) made seven catches for 185 yards and two scores. FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University defense stopped the Bridgewater State University Bears on a fourth down with 1:29 remaining in the game to preserve a 28-20 victory in New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division action in Framingham on Homecoming and Family Weekend.

With the win the Rams even their record at 2-2 on the year and 1-0 in the division, while the Bears suffer their first loss and are 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the Bogan Division.
