FRAMINGHAM, MA – On Monday, March 31th at 1:00 p.m. a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the Town of Framingham, Police Department’s new Tripoli Community Police Substation located at 904 Waverly Street. The new substation will enhance communication and create a community-centered method of policing.
Dennis Giombetti, Chair of the Board of Selectmen, stated: “The opening of a community policing station on this site is an important addition to the neighborhood. Since the Tripoli Barbershop moved to their location a few blocks away I have been working with the Police Chief and Lee Mencoboni, the owner of La Cantina and this property to make it a community policing substation. I am very proud that my last official act as a Selectman will be this ceremony. It merges my long standing efforts to invest in public safety and my love for the neighborhood where my father and I grew up. ”
Framingham Chief of Police Kenneth Ferguson commented: “The implementation of this substation is an excellent example of community policing in action, your police collaborating with public and private partners for the betterment of the community.”

FRAMINGHAM, MA – President Obama’s uncle, Onyango “Omar” Obama, who nearly hit FPD Officer Val Krishtal and was subsequently arrested for OUI near the Chicken Bone Saloon in Downtown Framingham on August 24th appeared in court this week for a status hearing on the OUI charge.
“Uncle Omar” as the President refers to him in his book, “Dreams From My Father“, is an illegal alien, ordered to leave the U.S. two decades ago, but somehow managed to remain in the country, get a social security number, get a job, (at Conti’s Liquors on Concord St. n Framingham), and quietly go about his life in Framingham.
At the status hearing this week, Onyango Obama’s lawyer, Atty. P. Scott Bratton told Judge Robert Grecco that he would be filing a “Motion to Supress”, claiming the police did not have probable cause to pull his client over in the first place.
Among other things, what the attorney would be seeking to suppress is the 1.4 breathalyzer results, (nearly twice the legal limit), and all other (more…)

FRAMINGHAM, MA – After being arrested on August 24th, 2011 for nearly hitting a police cruiser and subsequently being arrest for driving under the influence, (DUI), and other driving related charges, Onyango Obama, (age 67), of 37 Charles Street, Framingham made national and international news — not so much for the DUI charges, but because it turned out that he was in-fact an uncle of the President of the United States.
At arraignment, it was discovered that Obama had an outstanding warrant and was being held on a Federal Deportation Order.
The “big story” was not reported locally until we, (framingham.com), picked up the news from an Australian newspaper and reported it here.
Today, the Boston Globe reported that Onyango Obama, who has evaded deportation and remained illegally in this country after being ordered to leave nearly two decades ago, has been “quietly” released from jail, and that his current whereabouts are unknown.
