NOTICE: Most of the activities, special programs and events listed below require signing up or advance reservation, (unless otherwise noted). Please do so in advance so activities can be scheduled effectively and in the appropriate space.

New Member Orientation Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month. If you have just joined Callahan you might want to attend one of these meetings as we enjoy coffee and pastry, answer your questions and seek your input on activities. Please join us on Tuesday, December 13th from 9:30 – 10:00 AM.

Town of Framingham & Callahan Center Snowstorm Policy Notice – If the schools close due to snowstorms or other inclement weather days, there will be no activities at the Center. On these days, the Town of Framingham Staff will be available to you at the Center, unless the Town of Framingham declares an emergency closing.

- Caregivers’ Support Group: Wednesday, December 28 at 1:00 pm.

Book Discussion—Callahan’s book discussion group will be meeting this month two times- December 1st at 1:00 PM and December 29th at 1:00 PM. Please call the Center or check the bulletin boards for the books that will be discussed.

Friends Monthly Dance – Monday, December 5th at 2:30 pm. It’s good exercise and it’s fun! If you don’t dance, just come have some refreshments and enjoy watching! Donation is $2.00 to benefit the Friends of Callahan.

Framingham High School Show Choir – The Choir will be here to entertain you on Thursday, December 8th at 2:30 PM.

The Friends of Callahan will hold their general meeting on Monday, December 12th at 1:30 pm. Entertainment will be provided by Matt McCabe, Pianist and Scott Bronnes, Vocalist. Refreshments will be served.

Annual Holiday Intergenerational Program – Please join us for our Annual Holiday Intergenerational Program with Brophy Elementary School children. The program will be from 10:45 AM – 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 15th and will feature a holiday craft, magic show and pizza for lunch. Please RSVP by 12/9 at the front desk. Callahan’s Holiday Open House with Victorian Carolers – Join the festivities on December 20th as the Center opens its doors with light food and beverage to be enjoyed while listening to the strolling carolers. Open House is from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Kate McSweeney Homeless Fund – Lorraine Fournier, Community Projects Coordinator (Date & Time to be announced at a later date) Please join us with the teachers and 3rd grade students from McCarthy School for this special presentation of funds to the local area shelters at Callahan Center. Again, we thank all of you who have donated your pennies to this worthy cause.

The Friends of Callahan will now have two luncheons a month. For this month the dates are: Wednesday, December 14 & Wednesday, December 28 at 11:30 am. There is only one seating at 11:30 am. The cost is $4.00 per person. You must stop by the front desk or call the Callahan Center at 508-532-5980 to make your reservation by the Friday prior to the luncheon. No exceptions and no refunds. Lunch will be provided by Mark Curtis of the American Eagles Grille.

LEGAL CLINIC – The Callahan Center will be offering a Legal Clinic on the 4th Tuesday of every month. On December 27th appointments begin at 9:00 AM. Call Deb at 508-532-5980, x4110 to schedule a consultation.

WANTED: Volunteer Coordinator for Fundraising – The Friends of Callahan are searching for an experienced fundraiser. Preferably a retiree who has experience with non-profits. If you are interested and want more details, please call 508-877-3319 and ask for Leo Cantin.

Contract Bridge Players Wanted: A fun group of bridge players is looking to expand its group. We meet each Tuesday, year round. Play is from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Come alone or bring a friend. You will always get to play.
