FRAMINGHAM, MA– Roadwork on several major capital improvement projects in town will continue this week, (Monday through Friday, November 7th – 11th, 2011).
Delays due to traffic and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.

The email traffic alert for the week of November 7th – 11th, 2011 indicates that:
“A” Street – Construction crews will continue to complete service connections on “A” Street, restricting traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern while construction is underway. At the end of each work day, normal traffic flow on “A” Street will be restored. Access to side streets and Framingham High School will be maintained.
Beulah Street and Worcester Road (Route 9) – Construction crews will continue to install new sewer main on Beulah Street and perform drainage work on Route 9 westbound. While construction is in progress Beulah Street will be restricted to local traffic only from Auburn Street Ext. and will be closed at the intersection of Route 9 westbound. Construction activities are scheduled to take place overnight between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Coburn Area – Construction crews will continue to install new sewer main on Winthrop Street. While construction is in progress; Winthrop Street will be closed between Waverly Street and Mellen Street and through traffic will be locally detoured. Construction activities on Winthrop Street are scheduled to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. daily. A service crew will be working in the area installing new service connections. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Concord Street, (North of Worcester Road / Rt. 9) – Construction crews have begun to perform temporary restoration activities along “A” Street. While temporary restoration activities are in progress; it will be necessary to utilize a single lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone. Temporary restoration activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Construction crews are performing service connections between southern end of “A” Street and Summer Street. While services are being installed it will be necessary to restrict traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone. Service connections are schedule to be installed daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Installation of long side sewer laterals on Concord Street between Summer Street and Cherry Street will restrict traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern. The installation of the long side sewer laterals is scheduled to be installed daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Construction crews are currently working between Old Connecticut Path and Summer Street installing double force mains, local collector sewer, deep gravity sewer, sewer services and drainage. While construction is in progress; southbound traffic on Concord Street will be detoured from Concord Street to Summer Street, from Summer Street to Beacon Street and from Beacon Street to Cochituate Road back onto Concord Street. Access to properties and side streets will be maintained throughout construction. Construction activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Concord Street, (South of Worcester Road / Rt. 9) – Construction crews will continue to install a deep sewer main on Concord Street between Gorman Road and Route 9. Southbound traffic on Concord Street will be detoured from Concord Street to Corregidor Road, from Corregidor Road to Saint Lo Street, from Saint Lo Street to Guadalcanal Road, from Guadalcanal Road to Arsenal Road, from Arsenal Road to Normandy Road, and from Normandy Road back onto Concord Street. Normal traffic patterns will resume at the end of the work day. Construction activities are scheduled to take place overnight between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Beginning Monday, November 7th construction crews will begin trench restoration on Grant Street and installation of curbing on Gorman Road in preparation for the winter. While this work is in progress, it will be necessary to restrict traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone. Construction activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
On Sunday, November 6th at 8:00 a.m. construction crews will begin install the final top coat of paving on Concord Street between Gorman Road and Lincoln Street. It is anticipated that traffic will be restricted to a one lane alternating pattern through the construction zone. Expect delays if you are traveling in this area while work is in progress.
Danforth Street Bridge – Bridge will be closed during construction. (Additional info on MassDOT website, see link at bottom of page).
Fountain Street Bridge – Bridge will be closed during construction. It is anticipated that the bridge will be closed until late November of 2011. Traffic will be detoured to the west, over the Winter Street Bridge and the Fountain Street Bridge in Ashland. (Additional info on MassDOT website, see link at bottom of page).
Pleasant Street, (Route 30 at Framingham Centre) – Construction crews will continue to perform water main work on Pleasant Street between Thomas Drive and New York Avenue. Pleasant Street will be restricted to one lane alternating traffic while construction is in progress. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
