FRAMINGHAM, MA – There has never been a show at Framingham High School like the one coming up on Friday, February 12th at 7pm. Called F-Cubed (short for Finding Framingham’s Forte), the performance is billed as a showcase for artistic expression in three dimensions. It is a student-created and student-run production featuring original and cover music performed by three bands and some acoustic acts drawing from rock, jazz and folk music traditions. Even some faculty members are getting into the act. The music throughout the show is accompanied by the added dimensions of dance and video.
Conceived by student Patrick Greeley as his senior independent study project, he said the idea is to give students from different disciplines a new way of collaborating as well as providing a platform for talented students. “There are so many creative and talented musicians, dancers, photographers and videographers at FHS, but not all of them get a chance to really show what they can do and there’s not one opportunity to put this kind of talent all on one stage,” Greeley said.
Greeley and his co-producer, senior Jesse Combs, have had the support of a three faculty advisors, Flyer News promotional support from fellow senior, Aaron Schine, technical direction from senior Sean O’Leary and web site support from senior Emad Taliep. Featured bands include The Sessions, Ethics, and Good Cop/Bad Cop. Singer and guitarist Mia Cross and keyboardist and singer Harry Meltzer are also in the line-up. The teacher performers are Alison Courchesne, Mark Morabito and Chris Strader.
Proceeds from F-Cubed will be split between the school district’s performing arts budget and the Framingham High School Drama Company’s trip to the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in August.
Tickets are $10 and are reserved seating only –There will be no tickets sold at the door — Tickets are available at www.ticketstage.com or through the show’s website at www.findingforte.com
