FRAMINGHAM, MA — Signaling the start of a return to pre-pandemic normal, yesterday local Framingham officials announced that effective at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021 “local orders” related to COVID-19 State of Emergency are rescinded.
Framingham’s local COVID-19 orders are being made consistent with orders issued by MA Governor Charlie Baker, MA Dept. of Public Health and other state agencies.
Governor Bakers stated in a press release last week that “Effective May 29, [2021] all industries will be permitted to open. With the exception of remaining face-covering requirements for public and private transportation systems and facilities housing vulnerable populations, all industry restrictions will be lifted, and capacity will increase to 100% for all industries. The gathering limit will be rescinded.”
Both Framingham and the State are scheduled to terminate the (COVID) State of Emergency on June 15, 2021, at 12:01 a.m.
Framingham “local orders” rescinded 12:01 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021 include:
- Restrictions on Public In-person Meetings
- Prohibition of Certain Self-Service Food Operations, Lottery Sales, and Personal Care Services
- Parking and Taxes related orders
- Essential Service Operations order
- Restaurant Seating Limits
Note, the local Framingham orders related to the Moratorium on Eviction Enforcement was rescinded with a provision that “the moratorium would remain in place for tenants against whom an eviction proceeding has been initiated and who have applied for relief under a state or federal program, and whose application is pending as of May 24, 2021.”
