FRAMINGHAM, MA – For nearly four decades the Framingham Rotary Club has run an auction as one of its major fund raising efforts each year.
In past years the auction was run very much like the popular “Chanel 2 Auction“, where hosts would show and describe auction lots on television and people watching at home would phone-in their bids.
Last year the Framingham Rotary ran a combination of internet based auctions along with their traditional t.v. auction program.
This year, the 40th Annual Framingham Rotary Auction will be exclusively online — items will only be auctioned on the internet.
Framingham Rotary has partnered with the BiddingForGood auction hosting service. To bid on items you will need to register. Once you register, the service provides several features including easy to track lists of items you want to watch, items you’ve bid on, proxy bidding and other bidding and notification features.
Bidding will start on Tuesday November 22, 2011 and will end on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 11:59pm, (just before midnight).
The club will be airing an “Auction TV Show” on December 6th and 7th, (from 7:30pm to 9:30 pm), but it will only serve to promote some of the items being auctioned — there will be no phone-in bidding. The program will be shown on Access Framingham cable t.v., (Verizon Channel 43, Comcast Channel 9, and RCN Channel 3).
This year there will be hundreds of items up for auction including: Sporting Event Tickets, Electronics, Jewelry, Restaurant & Store Gift Certificates, Furniture & Accessories, and much, much more!
All proceeds from the auction help support local charities, non-profit community organizations and scholarship programs of the Framingham Rotary Club.
