Healthcare Reform Improves Medicare Benefits: Medicare coverage has been improved because of the Healthcare Reform, now called the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It is important to understand the changes, so you will be able to take advantage of them. Remember there are SHINE counselors, who volunteer at Senior Centers to help you understand your Medicare plans and to assist you in getting your Medicare services. To learn more about your Medicare benefits, you can go to www.medicare.gov or the Medicare & You 2011 Handbook. For a free, confidential SHINE (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders) appointment, call your Senior Center. You can also reach a SHINE counselor by phone at 1-800-AGE-INFO and press 3. Once you get the SHINE answering machine, leave your name and phone number.

Our Weight Management Support Group is looking for new members. They meet on Wednesdays at 11:30.
Anyone interested in Board Games? How about learning a new game or playing an old favorite-Checkers or Chess? Strategic moves on a game board are good for our brain health. We have someone who would be interested in organizing groups on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-4:00 pm.
Water Aerobics …..Think Spring? If anyone is interested in a second class this spring at Suburban Athletic Center, please call Deb at 508-532-5980 x4110. Since most people get a kick out of going to the pool, water aerobics are an easy way to get someone excited about working out.
Sudoku? We are still trying to get a group going for the Spring. Please call if you would be interested in learning the skills involved in this pencil and paper game that is all the current rage!
Writing Class? – Is anyone interested in a class that will teach you memoir and journal writing skills and techniques? Perhaps writing short stories or the Great American novel?
