Framingham, Mass. – Scottish entertainment, amazing items up for auction, and fabulous food will headline the “Scotland Night” fundraiser on January 9, 2010 at Temple Beth Am in Framingham. Parents of students in Framingham High School’s Drama Company are coordinating and hosting this special event, which will raise money for the kids’ trip to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland in August 2010.
“Drama Company parents are making sure that Scotland Night will be a feast for the ears and eyes – as well as the stomach,” said FHS Drama Company Director Donna Wresinski. “They’ve secured great entertainment and auction items, including: a Disney World extravaganza, a tour of the State House and lunch with Karen Spilka, tickets to a Red Sox vs. Yankees game, a ‘Night Behind the Scenes’ at the ‘Chronicle’ TV show, a gourmet dinner for six, and several ‘New England escape’ travel packages. Tickets to Scotland Night would make a great holiday gift for those special people on your list.”
Additional auction items include: a Trek bicycle from Landry’s Bicycles; a “Big Fat Greek Dinner” for up to 10 people; a week at a Dennisport cottage, a two-night stay at the Butler House in Stowe, Vermont, with dinner gift certificate; a weekend at Attitash Mountain Village. Up for bidding will also be “baskets” – combinations of multiple prizes with themes, such as: prom, spa, and Sturbridge.
Scottish-themed performers, including a bagpiper, will greet guests as they arrive. Tickets to this black-tie-optional, adults-only (21+) event include the entertainment, a buffet dinner, and admission to the live & silent auctions. Cost per person is $30 in advance (plus a handling fee of $1.50) – available online through www.ticketstage.com – or at Centre Music in Framingham; $35 at the door (if there are still tickets left by then, as the venue has only 200 seats available). There will also be a cash bar.
