FRAMINGHAM, MA – Do you just love the movies, but find that your friends don’t want to see all the movies you do? Do you work from home or are a stay-at-home mom who needs to get out every now and then to meet other people? Do you have your evenings free and want to catch a movie and a bite to eat with a group of really nice people?
The Framingham Movie Meetup has been around since May 2008 and now has over 370 members. We go to see movies a few times a month and would love for you to join the group! We welcome people of all different ages and backgrounds, as long as you love movies.
The group is organized by Dana Gillin and it usually meets at the AMC Framingham movie theater. After the movie, the group heads out to TGI Fridays for a bite to eat or drink. If you’d like to join us or even just research our past meetups, comments from our members, how big the groups usually are, what actually happens on a movie night, etc., go to http://www.meetup.com/FraminghamMovieMeetup/ and snoop around. Many of our members have also left very nice comments about the group.
Dana tries to be as laid-back about running the group as possible. You can join the Framingham Movie Meetup (which requires a free membership to Meetup.com) and come to the movies whenever you want to or are available. If you want to join the group and lurk for months until you see a movie on a night you’re free or until you see one scheduled that you really want to see, feel free. If you want to join us for every movie we post, feel free. If you want to come to a movie, but don’t want to come out after to chat or have a bite to eat, feel free.
The group does not cost you anything to join – in fact, you save $2.50 per ticket ($8 instead of $10.50 if you buy at the box office) at each AMC show. Dana also offers discounts on soda and popcorn at the AMC.
We’d love to have you, so don’t be shy! Head over to www.meetup.com/FraminghamMovieMeetup and check us out. Hope to see you at the movies soon!
