FRAMINGHAM, MA — Annie’s Book Stop in Nobscot Shopping Center hosts an author signing by Erin Dionne, Framingham author of the newly released title: Models don’t eat chocolate cookies.
Dionne will be signing books and reading passages from the book from 2 – 4 p.m. this Sunday, March 1, 2009.
The book is a first publication by Erin and tells the story of a thirteen-year-old girl who is heavier than she should be, and is horrified when her aunt enters her in the HuskyPeach Modeling Challenge, a pageant sponsored by a maker of clothes for the larger figure. Realizing that her life will be over if/when news of her participation reaches her school peers, Celeste launches Operation Skinny Celeste to become thin enough to be disqualified from the contest. While doing so, she discovers that she has a backbone and need no longer take the taunts and insults from the prettiest, skinny, girl in school and her cohorts.
We also learn more than we really need to know about the “Peach Monstrosity” bridesmaid’s dress which is the catalyst for the whole series of events.
Songs mentioned in the book were written by Erin’s friend Dann Russo, and he will be present to provide a musical interlude.
Refreshments will be served, although there will be no chocolate cookies, there will be macerated strawberries and cream, and probably something wickedly chocolatey.
Drop in: Annie’s Book Stop, Nobscot Shopping Center, Water Street, Sunday, March 1st 2 – 4 p.m.
