FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham Auxiliary Police announced today that they are holding their nineteenth annual Craft Fair / Flea Market and Child Identification Program from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007. The event will be held at the Keefe Vocational Technical High School, 750 Winter Street, Framingham, MA.
The Craft Fair / Flea Market will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During this fund raising event we anticipate over 100 exhibitors will be selling various merchandise including hand made crafts, hand crafted jewelry, hand decorated clothing, sketches, photographs, assorted flea market merchandise, and much, much more!!! Admission $2.50, children under 12 free.
The Framingham Auxiliary Police in cooperation with the Massachusetts Freemasons, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Massachusetts Crime Prevention Officers Association are sponsoring a Masonic Child Identification Program during our Craft Fair/ Flea Market from 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. Children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, and there is no cost to participate in the program. More than 226,000 Massachusetts children have already participated in Masonic Child Identification Programs.
Participating children will be videotaped, fingerprinted, and professional dental personnel will make a ToothprintTM. The video cassette, fingerprint card and the Toothprint™ are all given to the parents or guardian of the child, and no copies are kept by the Masons or the Police. Because it incorporates ToothPrints™, the Masonic Child Identification Program is considered the most comprehensive program of its kind in the world. According to the FBI’s Peter Banks and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, when a Toothprint™ is taken, sufficient proteins remain in the saliva on the wafer from which a DNA test can be successfully performed for yet a second means of identification from the ToothprintTM. He also stated that, since the Toothprint™ wafer is sealed in a “zipper”-type plastic bag, enough scent remains for a trained dog to identify and track it.
A limited amount of exhibitor space is still available for craft and flea market vendors.
