    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Its that time again folks, when Massachusetts politics heat up even more than usual and just about anything goes.

    Yes, it’s election time for the Massachusetts Governor, Treasurer, State Reps and few other other hot seats.

    On top the contested races, and likely to get more people out to vote are three ballot questions, two of which have a lot of people talking.

    Rather than “report”, I figured I just open up a with “Ready, Aim, Fire!”… and let you post ANYTHING related to any political race or ballot question that directly or indirectly affects Framingham, MA residents.

    BOSTON, MA – Between June 1st and July 7th Emily Rooney sat and talked with the four candidates running in the 2010 Massachusetts Gubernatorial Race.

    Rooney who hosts the PBS nightly news program Greater Boston is a seasoned reporter, editor and on-air personality with decades of experience in Massachusetts politics.

    Video clips of each segment appear below in the order they aired.

    This round of interviews appear somewhat informal — a “talk show” atmosphere, with not very hard questions — something that will likely change as the political season heats up heading towards November.

    MASSACHUSETTS – On November 2, 2010, the people of Massachusetts will elect their next Governor. Four candidates have made it onto the ballot; Deval Patrick, Charlie Baker, Jill Stein and Tim Cahill.

    BOSTON, MA – In the old days, when Massachusetts State government had items to auction off they would publish a public notice in several major newspapers and mail out a list to a few hundred in-the-know auction hounds, junk dealers, surplus buyers and collectors of all sorts of things.

    The state would then take sealed bids for larger items, and arrange public auctions  where a real live auctioneer would call out, “Who’ll give me $5.00?, …$4.00? $3.00?” …the bidding would start — and then usually end just as quickly — with many valuable items selling for pennies on the dollar.

  • Money Conference for Women at Framingham State College

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – A free money conference for women will be held on Saturday, February 12 – 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Framingham State College.

    This program is presented under the leadership of Treasurer Tim Cahill for the benefit of all who are interested in learning more about managing their own money from experts. Dee Lee, author of books and articles on money management, is the keynote speaker. The program will include small group discussion on various topics.

    We have been working with the Treasurer’s staff to bring this seminar to Framingham for the first time. We will have official sign up information this week. The program is free and is open to men and women of all ages. Lunch and babysitting services will be provided.
