    3-Day Ahead!

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – On Friday, July 22nd, 2011, at 6:30am, for the sixth time in as many years, the starting point and opening ceremony for the Susan G. Komen3 Day for the Cure” (Boston) walk was held Farm Pond in Framingham.

    While the short time spent at Farm Pond was the offical “start“, months of fund-raising, preparation and training had already been put in by those who would actually do the walk.

    Although framingham.com was there to capture the event in photos, video and interviews.  Real credit for the following photos should go to the women and men who did the 60-mile walk, to those who donated time and money to the cause, and to the organizers and crew who made the event a success.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The 2011 Susan G. Komen “3 Day for the Cure” Boston walk started yesterday morning in Framingham.

    In the early morning hours, walkers, supporters, friends and family converged on the shore of Farm Pond off Dudley Rd.

    At 6:30a.m., the Opening Ceremony began with group stretching, a welcome from Ronni Cohen-Boyar, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, followed by an inspirational opening address given by Dr. Sheri Phillips, 2011 National Spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen organization.

    To simply say “Sheri was awesome!” just isn’t enough — you really need to hear her yourself — and we make it possible here! So here she is  speaking to (more…)
