    Staples To Give Small Businesses a Push with Free Advertising

    Framingham, MA based Staples Inc. to award (5) small businesses with $50k each in free t.v. advertising, (or they can take $40k in advertising and $10k in cash!)

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The 6th annual Staples National Small Business Survey (NASDAQ: SPLS) found that seven out of 10 small business owners are optimistic about the future. Further, 52 percent of small business owners revealed they would grow their business through advertising and direct marketing if they had a larger marketing budget. To help address this need, Staples today launched the Staples “Give Your Small Business the Push It Needs” contest to make it easy for five small businesses to win up to $50,000 each in free television advertising in their home market.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Staples, Inc. and Ashoka, the world’s community of leading social entrepreneurs, have launched the fourth annual Staples/Ashoka Youth Social Entrepreneur Competition.

    The global competition highlights youth-led organizations focusing on social issues affecting their communities, and is part of Ashoka’s Youth Venture, an initiative that identifies and fosters young entrepreneurs all over the world who are creating positive change.

  • Small Business Listening Tour

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business will be visiting Framingham on Thursday November 19, 2009 as part of a series of listening tours the Committee has been hosting throughout different areas of the state.

    These tours serve as a chance for the committee to hear, engage and better understand the challenges small businesses are currently facing.

    The Committee will be Hosting a Round Table Discussion from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on  Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Framingham Town Hall.

    Hosted by Co-Chairs Senator Michael Moore and Representative Linda Dorcena Forry

    These discussions are a great opportunity for local small businesses to voice their opinions and challenges as they relate to current legislation.
