    Construction crews have placed these signs in several locations on and around ''A'' Steet and Concord St. near the Framingham High School where a major sewer project frequently brings traffic to a standstill.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA– Roadwork on several major capital improvement projects in town will continue this week, (Monday through Friday, July 11 through July 15, 2011).

    Major delays due to backed up traffic and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.

    The Town of Framingham’s Department of Public Works / Highway Division / Capital Projects website offers residents and visitors to Framingham helpful information about current and upcoming construction projects.

    You can view up to date traffic alerts, maps of project worksites and traffic detours, and sign up to receive email alerts for all or any of the currently listed projects.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Dennis Paulsen, (Town Meeting Member for Precinct 9, and Vice Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Works), recently spoke with key Town of Framingham personnel and the construction supervisor responsible for the East Framingham Sewer Construction project regarding the work being done near the interestion of Rt. 30 (Cochituate Road), and Rt. 126, (Concord Street).

    Paulsen was informed that this week, (July 5th – July 8th, 2011), crews will be cutting diagonally across Concord Streetfrom Landseer Ave. to the Framingham Cooperative Bank, and that the work will be done during weekday working hours and that during the construction, Rt. 126 will be restricted to (1) lane (more…)

  • Rte 9 Resurfacing Project / Informational Meeting

    MetroWest Growth Management Committee, The 495/MetroWest Partnership and representatives from The Highway Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will hold an informational meeting regarding the upcoming Rte 9 resurfacing project on Thursday, April 1, at 7:00PM in Framingham Town Hall.

    According to MassDOT, the Route 9 resurfacing project in Natick and Framingham has been awarded, a contract signed and a Notice To Proceed issued.

    On Thursday April 1 at 7 pm at the Framingham Town Hall, MassDOT representatives will be presenting an update on the Route 9 Resurfacing Project from Walnut Street in Natick to the Framingham/Southborough Town Line.

    The purpose of the meeting is to inform town officials, abutters, interested citizens and regional employers about the logistics of the upcoming construction project. Items to be discussed include construction schedule, temporary impacts, and communication procedures.  It should be noted that the majority of construction will be on a night-time schedule, typically from 9:00PM to 5:30AM.

  • MassDOT Forum on Route 9 Resurfacing

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – MA Dept. of Transportation’s (MassDOT) Highway Division is holding a forum for businesses that may be impacted by the planned Route 9 Resurfacing Project from the Southborough/Framingham town line to Maine Avenue in Natick.

    MassDOT would like to provide the affected businesses with specific background on the project in order to address their anticipated questions on traffic and access to their properties. The forum is taking place on Thursday, December 17th from 8:30 ­ 10:30 AM, in meeting space being provided by the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center, 1657 Worcester Road in Framingham.

    Given the impacts of this project on both Framingham and Natick, if you know of businesses that will be affected, please let them know about the forum.
