    FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) will host a Household Hazardous Waste Day, Saturday, May 1st 2021, at the DPW Operations Center, 100 Western Avenue, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

    This event is open to all Framingham residents, and proof of residency and face coverings will be required to attend this event.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham Department of Public Works will begin its spring curbside brush and leaf collection at the end of April.

    Leaves will be collected first, April 26-30, and brush will be picked up May 3-7 on residents’ regularly scheduled trash/recycling collection days during those weeks.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham has announced the details of the 2013 “Household Hazardous Waste Day” which will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013, at McCarthy Elementary, 8 Flagg Drive from 9:00am – 1:00pm, (with NO late arrivals!)

    The recycling and disposal program is open to Framingham residents only, (who must show Framingham license).  There is no cost for residents to participate.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham, Department of Public Works, solid Waste Division is holding its popular Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 9:00am to 1:00pm in the parking lot of the McCarthy Elementary School, 8 Flagg Drive, Framingham, MA.

    There is no cost to dispose of hazardous waste materials.

    Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham will be holding its spring Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM in the parking lot of the McCarthy Elementary School, 8 Flagg Drive, Framingham, MA.

     

    Please bring:

    • pesticides / herbicides
    • bug sprays
    • rodent poisons
    • cleaning solvents
    • caustic cleaners / degreaser
    • concentrated fertilizers
    • photo chemicals
    • pool & spa chemicals

     

    • aerosol cans containing paint
    • oil based or enamel paint
    • lead based paint
    • urethanes
    • paint thinner
    • diesel oil
    • old gasoline / kerosene
    • Mercury-containing devices

     

    Do NOT Bring:

    • Radioactive waste including radioactive type smoke detectors (batteries can be removed, and the smoke detector can be thrown out in the regular trash)
    • explosives / gunpowder / flares / ammunition
    • PCB oils / bulk chemicals / oil
    • asbestos
    • medical / biological waste including sharps
    • Items that are collected regularly as part of the normal weekly operations of the Town of Framingham Recycling Drop-off Center are NOT collected as part of the Household Hazardous Waste Event.
    • NO LATEX PAINT – Latex paint can be safely disposed of at curbside by following these steps. Remove the lid from each can. Dry up any liquid paint by stirring in an absorbent material. Allow to dry. Place open can next to trash at curbside on your regular trash day.

    Open to Framingham residents only.

    Proof of residency and photo ID will be required.

    No commercial waste.

    Reduce long waits — combine your waste with your neighbors and car-pool!

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham Department of Public Works is holding Shred-Fest: Confidential Paper Shredding Event on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 8:00AM until 2:00PM at the Resource Recovery Center, (the old incinerator building), 255 Mt Wayte Ave, Framingham, MA.

    The shredding service is FREE to Framingham residents with a valid recycling center permit. Shredding will beperformed by Northeast Record Retention, LLC.

  • Recycle Schedule Changing

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Framingham Town Meeting Members, (TMM), voted to pass an article which will leave Framingham residents with recycling pick up every other week instead of weekly.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — This spring the Department of Public Works will be hosting several events aimed at increased recycling and environmental awareness.

    On Saturday, April 18th the second annual Shred Fest will be held at the Recycling Center on Mount Wayte Ave from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.   • Computer Recycling Fundraiser

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The John Andrew Mazie Memorial Foundation will hold a Computer Recycling Event on Saturday April 29, 2006 at the Framingham High School parking lot, from 9 AM to 3 PM.

    Computers contain very toxic materials, including mercury, lead, cadmium and flame-retardents, which if released into the air and water can severely damage our environment.

    Your electronic equipment will be recycled in an environmentally responsible way by Onyx Environmental Services.

    Suggested tax-free donations to support the Mazie Mentoring Program at Framingham High are:

    • CRT Monitors: $15 ea.
    • Desk top or lap top computers: $10 ea.
    • Printers, Fax machines: $10 ea.
    • Other electronic devices: $10 ea.
    • Keyboards, Mice, Speakers: Free

    Area residents and businesses are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to help the planet and support this community based mentoring program.
