    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham’s Department of Public Works will host Electronics Recycling Day, Wednesday, June 16, at the Recycling Drop-Off Center, 255 Mount Wayte Avenue, 12-8 p.m.

    Residents can bring any type of electronic device to dispose of as long as it has a power cord or power button.

    Framingham, MA – The Town of Framingham Solid Waste Division is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at McCarthy Elementary, (8 Flagg Drive, Framingham, MA). You MUST arrive between 9:00am and 1:00pm, (no late arrivals!).

    The recycling and disposal program is open to Framingham residents only, (who must show their Framingham license).  There is no cost for residents to participate.

    ACCEPTED ITEMS:

    From your house: Aerosol paint cans • Ammonia • Bleaches • Chemistry sets • Cleaners • Drain cleaners • Dry cleaning fluid • Floor cleaners • Metal polish • Oven cleaners • Mercury items (fluorescent bulbs, thermostats, button batteries)

    From your yard: Cesspool cleaners • Insecticides • Pesticides • Weed killer • Fertilizers • Pool chemicals • Rodent killer

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham has announced the details of the 2013 “Household Hazardous Waste Day” which will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013, at McCarthy Elementary, 8 Flagg Drive from 9:00am – 1:00pm, (with NO late arrivals!)

    FRAMINGHAM, MA– The Christmas tree in your home is most likely very dried out — and should be seen as a fire hazard.

    The Town of Framingham Department of Public Works will be  collecting Christmas Trees during the week of  January 14th through the 18th, 2013.

    During that week, you should put your tree on the curb on your normal trash collection day.

    If you plan to leave the tree up for the next week or so, make sure there is plenty of water in the base.  Check the water daily.

    On the other hand, if you’ve already started cleaning up, and moved the Christmas tree outdoors, you should make sure it is far away from any [cigarette] smoking areas or other possible sources of (more…)

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – On Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 12:00 Noon until 8:00pm, the Town of Framingham Recycling Center is holding a *Free! Electronics Recycle Event.

    Framingham residents can drop off “anything with a power cord or a power button“, (tv sets, computers, kitchen appliances, home entertainment equipment, computers, monitors, vacuum cleaners — if it has a power cord or power button, they’ll take it!)

    Residents do not have to have a recycle center sticker for this event, but will be asked to produce a drivers license showing they are a Framingham resident.

    *As this is being promoted as a “free” event, the Recycling Center will waive the normal $10 permit fee for residents who (more…)

    Earth Day graphicFRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham will celebrate Earth Day 2012, on Saturday, April 28th. Events are scheduled throughout out the day.

    The day starts with Framingham’s 12th annual Greenup Day. From 9:00am to 12:00 noon, join friends, neighbors and other volunteers at various locations throughout Framingham to help remove trash and debris from ponds, rivers and streams, parks and roadways to improve Framingham’s environment.     From 10:00am to 12:00 noon Framingham will participate in World Tai Chi & Qi Gong Day on the Centre Common (rain or shine). Tai Chi & Qi Gong are “Chinese healing techniques and exercises have been used to treat certain conditions, stimulate the immune system and harmonize and balance the body’s energy.”  All are welcome!     From 11:00am ’til 3:00pm the 2012 Framingham Earth Day Festival will be held on the Village Green, (Framingham Centre Common).  Educational, environmental and fun events for families, kids and people of all ages including on-site recycling, sustainable living demonstrations and over 80 vendor booths showcasing green and eco friendly products, local foods and art and craft items by area artisans. There will be games, crafts, face painting, a magic show  and other activities just for kids.  Live performances by “The Elderly Brothers“,  “Something With Digby” and “Adam & Eve” will fill the Common with music for the afternoon.

    In case of Rain, the Festival will be held indoors at Framingham High School, (on “A” Street).

    FRAMINGHAM, MA– It’s been nearly a month since Christmas, and if you still have a Christmas tree in your home, it’s most likely very dried out — and could be a fire hazard at this point in time.

    Dried out trees should be removed from your home or business and placed outdoors, away from any [cigarette] smoking areas or other possible sources of ignition until the tree can be properly disposed of.

    The Town of Framingham Department of Public Works will be  collecting Christmas Trees during the week of  January 23rd through 27th, 2012. You should put your tree on the curb on your normal trash collection day.

    The DPW will only pickup trees if all decorations, strands of lights, tinsel/garland, etc, have been removed — and the tree can not be in a plastic bag, (or it will not be picked up).

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – On Wednesday, August 31, 2011, from 12:00 Noon until 8:00pm, the Town of Framingham Recycling Center is holding a *Free! Electronics Recycle Event.

    Framingham residents can drop off “anything with a power cord or a power button“, (tv sets, computers, kitchen appliances, home entertainment equipment, computers, monitors, vacuum cleaners — if it has a power cord or power button, they’ll take it).

    Residents do not have to have a recycle center sticker for this event, but will be asked to produce a drivers license showing they are a Framingham resident.

    *As this is being promoted as a “free” event, the Recycling Center will waive the normal $10 permit fee for residents who donate (1) non-perishable food item for each electronic item dropped-off.

    The food items will be donated to Framingham-based food pantries.

    Electronics will be recycled by E. L. Harvey & Sons, Inc.

    The Framingham Recycling Center is located 255 Mt. Wayte Ave.,  (the building which was formerly the town incinerator is located between Franklin St. and Fountain St., across from the Juvenile Court, near Farm Pond).
