    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Dennis Paulsen, (Town Meeting Member for Precinct 9, and Vice Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Works), recently spoke with key Town of Framingham personnel and the construction supervisor responsible for the East Framingham Sewer Construction project regarding the work being done near the interestion of Rt. 30 (Cochituate Road), and Rt. 126, (Concord Street).

    Paulsen was informed that this week, (July 5th – July 8th, 2011), crews will be cutting diagonally across Concord Streetfrom Landseer Ave. to the Framingham Cooperative Bank, and that the work will be done during weekday working hours and that during the construction, Rt. 126 will be restricted to (1) lane (more…)

    Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham will be holding its spring Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM in the parking lot of the McCarthy Elementary School, 8 Flagg Drive, Framingham, MA.

     

    Please bring:

    • pesticides / herbicides
    • bug sprays
    • rodent poisons
    • cleaning solvents
    • caustic cleaners / degreaser
    • concentrated fertilizers
    • photo chemicals
    • pool & spa chemicals

     

    • aerosol cans containing paint
    • oil based or enamel paint
    • lead based paint
    • urethanes
    • paint thinner
    • diesel oil
    • old gasoline / kerosene
    • Mercury-containing devices

     

    Do NOT Bring:

    • Radioactive waste including radioactive type smoke detectors (batteries can be removed, and the smoke detector can be thrown out in the regular trash)
    • explosives / gunpowder / flares / ammunition
    • PCB oils / bulk chemicals / oil
    • asbestos
    • medical / biological waste including sharps
    • Items that are collected regularly as part of the normal weekly operations of the Town of Framingham Recycling Drop-off Center are NOT collected as part of the Household Hazardous Waste Event.
    • NO LATEX PAINT – Latex paint can be safely disposed of at curbside by following these steps. Remove the lid from each can. Dry up any liquid paint by stirring in an absorbent material. Allow to dry. Place open can next to trash at curbside on your regular trash day.

    Open to Framingham residents only.

    Proof of residency and photo ID will be required.

    No commercial waste.

    Reduce long waits — combine your waste with your neighbors and car-pool!

    Framingham, MA – Electronics Recycle Event – June 16, 2010 – Noon to 8:00pm

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – On Wednesday June 16, 2010, from 12:00 Noon until 8:00pm, the Town of Framingham Recycle Center is holding a Free! Electronics Recycle Event.

    Framingham residents can drop off “anything with a cord“, (tv sets, computers, kitchen appliances, home entertainment equipment, computers, monitors, vacuum cleaners — if it has a cord, they’ll take it).

    Residents do not have to have a recycle center sticker for this event, but will be asked to produce a license showing they are a Framingham resident.

    In lieu of payment, the Recycle Center is asking that residents donate (1) non-perishable food item for each electronic item dropped-off.  The food items will be donated to local food pantries.

    The Framingham Recycle Center is located 255 Mt. Wayte Ave.,  (between Franklin St. and Fountain St., accross from Farm Pond).

  • Upcoming DPW Recycling Events

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — This spring the Department of Public Works will be hosting several events aimed at increased recycling and environmental awareness.

    On Saturday, April 18th the second annual Shred Fest will be held at the Recycling Center on Mount Wayte Ave from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
