    FRAMINGHAM, MA — *** UPDATED *** The Framingham Parks & Recreation Department has rescheduled the return of its Family Fun & Movie Night featuring “The Boss Baby”.

    The free event will be held at Bowditch Field Athletic & Cultural Complex (475 Union Ave) on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and Family Fun Night begins at 6 p.m. with the movie to follow at dusk.

The City of Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Division have collaborated to create a socially distant scavenger hunt to help locate their lost Toy Soldiers and Snow People.

    After a long quarantine nap, the Toy Soldiers and Snow People have come out of hibernation and are wandering around the City. We need your help finding them, to make sure they are ready to celebrate the holidays and ring in the new year!

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Avoid cabin fever this winter! The Framingham Park and Recreation Dept. will be offering a class in gentle, Kripalu style Yoga Class along with a low impact Zumba Gold Class for Adults.

    In Yoga, students will learn basic postures, gentle stretching, and breathing and relaxation techniques to increase flexibility and strength, reduce stress and create peace of mind. The Zumba Gold Class will offer students, of any dance or fitness level, a fun, yet effective workout!

    Both classes will be held at the Brophy School Gym, 575 Pleasant Street, Framingham, MA, on Monday evenings from January 5th through March 9th,  2015, (no class will be held on 1/19 or 2/16).

    Yoga runs from 6:00pm – 7:00pm and costs $55 per Framingham resident.

    Zumba Gold runs from 7:00 – 8:00pm and costs $48 per Framingham resident.

  • Framingham Blazers Summer Band

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Under the direction of Mr. Brian Cervone, band director at Framingham High School — and in association with the Performing Arts Center of Metrowest, The Blazers Band is being revived as the Framingham Blazers Summer Band.

    Participation is open to musicians in grades 8-12 as well as adults. Those who play wind instruments, percussion, and string instruments are encouraged to sign up.

    Rehearsals will be at PAC, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and occasional Tuesdays, starting June 22nd, 2011. There’s still time to register, and it’s free!

    History of the Blazers Band

    Founded in 1960 in conjunction with the Framingham Parks & Recreation Department, The Blazers Band was Framingham’s hometown band throughout the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s .

    Founder and first musical director, Mr. Paul Bordeleau, was a teacher at Framingham’s now-defunct Lincoln Junior High School and wanted a way for Framingham kids to continue practicing and playing their band instruments after the school year ended.  In 1963, when the newly constructed Framingham North High School was built, Mr. Bordeleau became the school’s first band director.

    The Blazers Band was a family oriented organization — a group of Framingham ladies sewed the red and white striped blazers that band members wore, and decades of Framingham families supported the band and participated in band activities.

    The organization grew to include the marching band, a color guard, jazz band, a stage band that performed “Big Band” style,  and of course — The Blazeretts, a troupe of baton twirlers in matching red and (more…)

    Framingham’s Bowditch Field


    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Massachusetts Office Of Travel & Tourism visited the newly renovated Bowditch Field in Framingham, Massachusetts.

    The field and sports complex hosts many sporting events for teams located in the MetroWest.

    The field has a 6-lane track, 3,500 seats, and a turf playing surface.

    When the field is not being used for sports it is opened for public use.
