FRAMINGHAM, MA — Santander Bank held a Grand Opening for its new Framingham branch located at 490 Cochituate Road in Framingham.
For over a decade the property located at the corner of Whittier Street and Cochituate Road (Rt. 30, westbound just before Target) was a fenced-off eyesore after the former bank building fell into disrepair and was eventually razed.
In a ground-up redesign, a new, modern looking Santander Bank branch is officially open. The new branch has a drive-up ATM and 24-hour ATM vestibule. Inside, during business hours there is a teller bar, a help bar and offices where clients can meet privately with bankers to discuss their financial needs. The branch also offers free Wi-Fi for clients.
Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky attended the bank’s Grand Opening where Santander recognized the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) for it’s aims to improve equity, wellness and quality of life for diverse individuals and families in the Framingham area. Notably, Santander Bank has provided $20,000 in grants to SMOC (in 2021 and 2022) to support the organization’s small business loan and technical assistance programs to help entrepreneurs in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods start, stabilize and grow their businesses.
Santander Bank, N. A., (formerly Sovereign Bank), is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Spanish Santander Group. It is based in Boston, MA USA and its principal market is the northeastern United States.
