    35 Waveney Road, auction January 27, 2011
    This fire damaged 22 room mansion located at 35 Waveney Road will be auctioned Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 at 2:00PM.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Town of Framingham has ordered the historic Addilson Belknap property at 35 Waveney Road be auctioned off to recoup back taxes owed on the fire damage mansion.

    The property which was was originally scheduled be auctioned off  in January, has now been set to go on the auction block Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 at 2:00PM(bidder registration begins at 1:30PM on site).

    Those interested in the 13 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath, two-story “22 rooms-in-all” Greek-revival, 8,000 sq. ft. style home which was originally built in 1699 and presently sits on approximately 1.65 acres of prime North Framingham real estate must (more…)

  • March 2011 Residential Real Estate Sales

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – A total of 43 residential properties were sold in the town of Framingham, MA during the month of March, (2011).

    Twenty eight single family homes, ten condos, four multi-family homes and half acre lot on Kendall Street rounded out the residential real estate sales in town for the month.

    The single family homes were on the market for an average of 86 days, and sold for an average of just over $300k, slightly below the average list price for the same properties which was $311k.

    Condo sales were brisk. Units which did sell had only been on the market for an average of 25 to 26 days. Still, buyers were able to purchase the condos for slightly less than asking price, (in most cases). Average condo prices were in the mid-$90k range, with units selling from $40k to just under $250k. The Town’s long standing moratoriums on large-scale apartment complex construction appears to keep demand high for the limited number of existing condominiums in Framingham.

    Four 2-family homes located in Downtown Framingham, (40-44 Alexander St., 61 Lawrence St., 231 Irving St. and 8 Wellington Ave) sold during the month of March.  The multi-family homes which were on the market for an average of five months, (157 days), sold at an average of $176k, slightly less than the average asking price of $187k.

  • FPAC News Production Workshop

    Framingham Public Access TV to produce new News Magazine style show this spring.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – If you have ever wanted to learn about television news, or how to produce stories for newscasts and longer-form magazine shows, FPAC, (Framingham Public Access Corporation), invites you to be part of a brand new, Framingham-focused series.

    This spring, FPAC will be unveiling a new initiative to provide a regularly scheduled news magazine program to our viewers. Each program will rely on the talents and efforts of FPAC members and interns who can act as reporters, shooters, segment producers, and other vital roles.

    With that in mind, we’ll be holding a news production workshop series in May in which we will teach students the basics of how to report, shoot and produce packages for television news.

    Whether you are interested in covering community events, creating a segment on arts or dining, or doing a series of reports on an important town-wide issue, this workshop will give you the basic skills to get started.

    The three-session workshop will start Thursday, May 5th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, and will continue for the next two Thursday evenings, (the 12th and 19th).

    During the course of this workshop each participant will be working on news/feature packages that will be included in the premiere edition of FPAC’s new series, which will be produced on Wednesday, May 25th.
