    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Motorists are advised that there may be detours or slow moving traffic due to construction work being performed during daytime hours on the following roads in Framingham during the week of April 10th through the 16th, 2022. Please note: construction schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

  • Framingham’s Thomas Eames Historic Marker Reinstalled

    Framingham’s Thomas Eames Historic Marker Reinstalled

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the City of Framingham have announced that crews have reinstalled a historic 1930 Massachusetts Bay Colony Tercentenary Marker in Framingham as part of an effort to inventory and document the original markers that were installed nearly 90 years ago throughout the Commonwealth.

  • Wickford Road Bridge Opens

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – As part of a multi-site road and bridge repair contract, MassDOT and Framingham celebrated the opening of the Wickford Road Bridge today.

    The next step towards completion of the contract is the closing of the Central Street Bridge.

    Downtown Framingham Traffic About to Get a Little Worse

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Long recognized as one of the worst things about Downtown Framingham, traffic along the Rt. 126 corridor through the Rt. 135 intersection and rail crossing is about to get even worse — temporarily.

    Construction is slated to begin June 23, 2011 to replace the Fountain St. bridge which some motorists use as an alternate route to avoid the traffic choked Downtown central district.

    MassDOT and its contractor estimate the project will take 97 days and, baring any unforeseen circumstances, the projected bridge re-opening date is set for September 27th, (2011).
