    FSU Women’s Soccer 5-4 Victory over Fitchburg State

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Freshman Isabela DeSouza of Framingham tallied a pair of goals and picked up two assists as the Framingham State University women’s soccer team defeated conference leader Fitchburg State 5-4 this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women’s soccer action at Maple Street Field.

    With the win, the Rams improve to 8-6-1 on the year and 3-2-1 in the MASCAC, while the loss is the second straight MASCAC loss for the Falcons who are now 4-2 in the conference and 10-3-2 overall.

    DeSouza Hat Trick Puts FSU Women’s Soccer 4-2 Over Clark

    Framingham State Freshman Forward Isabela DeSouza hat trick leads FSU Women’s Soccer to 4-2 win over Clark University.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Freshman forward Isabela DeSouza (Framingham, Mass.) notched her first collegiate hat trick in a four minute span during the game’s final 5:24 to lift the Framingham State University women’s soccer team to a 4-2 come from behind victory today over Clark University in non-conference action at Maple Street Field.

    With the win, the Rams even their season record at 4-4, while the Cougars fall to 2-6-1.

    Clark had an opportunity to score first just over two minutes into the game as senior Sara Conway (Lynn, Mass.) sent the ball through to Hannah Moriarty (Millbury, Mass.).  Moriarty scored what appeared to be the game’s first goal, but the goal was waved off on an offsides call. The first of 11 offsides that Clark was called for in the game.

    Clark had several other opportunities to take the game’s first lead including a header from Conway that hit the crossbar and bounced in front of the net, but FSU goalkeeper McKenzie Vershon (Chicopee, Mass.) was able to control before it bounced into the net.

    With 13:39 remaining in the first half, the Rams were able to break the 0-0 tie.  Freshman Marisa Parent (Revere, Mass.) fired a long shot on net, that Clark goalie Audrey Eisemann (Worcester, Mass.) deflected away, but sophomore Marissa D’Angelo (Whitman, Mass.) was (more…)

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – FSU Junior Taylor Ezold (Westfield, MA) tallied a pair of goals and classmate Hannah Jerdee (Marlborough, MA) picked up a goal and a pair of assists to lead the Framingham State University women’s soccer team to a 9-0 victory today over Wheelock College at Maple Street Field.

    With the win, the Rams even their season record at 3-3, while the Wildcats fall to 0-4 with the loss.

    Sophomore midfielder Kayla Austin (Winchester, MA) scored the game-winner just under four minutes into the game as she collected a rebound at the twenty and sent a high shot on net that (more…)

    Women’s Soccer Drops Double Overtime Heartbreaker to Babson College

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Babson College senior Lauren Clement (Pittsfield, Mass.) scored the game winning goal with 3:34 remaining in the second overtime as the Beavers defeated the Framingham State University women’s soccer team 2-1 in heartbreaking fashion in non-conference action this afternoon at Maple Street Field. With the win Babson improves to 4-1-1 on the year, while the Rams are now 1-3.

    The Rams struck first in the 28th minute as they sent a long shot into the box that deflected off the Beaver netminder. Sophomore forward Marissa D’Angelo (Whitman, Mass.) was right there to control the loose ball and tap it into the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
