    Framingham Traffic Alerts, Detours, Delays, sign: Be Prepared to Stop
    Motorists driving on Concord St., approaching the top of A Street should be prepared to stop as Police controlled single-lane alternating traffic patterns are in use at this construction site.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA– Roadwork on several major capital improvement projects in town will continue this week, (Monday through Friday, August 1st through August 5th, 2011).

    Delays due to traffic and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.

    The Town of Framingham’s Department of Public Works / Highway Division / Capital Projects website offers residents and visitors to Framingham helpful information about current and upcoming construction projects.

    You can view up to date traffic alerts, maps of project work sites and traffic detours, and sign up to receive email alerts for all or any of the currently listed projects.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Due to impending thunderstorms, tonight’s “Concerts on the Green“, (Friday, July 29th, 2011), which was to have featured “XR Band” has been canceled.

    “Concerts on the Green” is a free summer concert series hosted by the Town of Framingham each Friday night throughout the months of June, July and August on the Framingham Centre Common, (off Edgell Rd, near the Rt. 9 / State College exit). Up to date info can always be found at the ncert Info Line at (508) 532-5488.

    Be sure to catch the “XR Band” at other venues inlcuding upcoming shows at O’Connell’s Pub in Framingham, the KasBar in Worcester and other fine establishments! (more…)

    3-Day Ahead!

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – On Friday, July 22nd, 2011, at 6:30am, for the sixth time in as many years, the starting point and opening ceremony for the Susan G. Komen3 Day for the Cure” (Boston) walk was held Farm Pond in Framingham.

    While the short time spent at Farm Pond was the offical “start“, months of fund-raising, preparation and training had already been put in by those who would actually do the walk.

    Although framingham.com was there to capture the event in photos, video and interviews.  Real credit for the following photos should go to the women and men who did the 60-mile walk, to those who donated time and money to the cause, and to the organizers and crew who made the event a success.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Dennis Paulsen, (Town Meeting Member for Precinct 9, and Vice Chair of the Standing Committee on Public Works), recently spoke with key Town of Framingham personnel and the construction supervisor responsible for the East Framingham Sewer Construction project regarding the work being done near the interestion of Rt. 30 (Cochituate Road), and Rt. 126, (Concord Street).

    Paulsen was informed that this week, (July 5th – July 8th, 2011), crews will be cutting diagonally across Concord Streetfrom Landseer Ave. to the Framingham Cooperative Bank, and that the work will be done during weekday working hours and that during the construction, Rt. 126 will be restricted to (1) lane (more…)

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University football program is sponsoring a youth football camp July 25-28, 2011 from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the university’s Maple Street field.

    The “no-contact” camp is open to players age 8 through 15.

    Space is limited to the first 100 players to register, (to maintain a 10:1 player coach ratio).

    Participants must submit medical release form with registration and $120 (non-refundable) fee.
