    Framingham Cancels Popular Christmas Tree Lighting Event

    christmas tree, clip artFRAMINGHAM, MA – In past years a town-wide effort was made to bring people together to light the “Official” Christmas Tree in Downtown Framingham.  At past tree lightings, school children would carol on the steps of the Memorial Building, Santa might have shown up riding atop a Framingham Fire Engine, and after the tree lighting children would be welcomed into Nevins Hall for hot chocolate, cookies, candy canes and a chance to spend some time with friends, neighbors and family and maybe have a photo taken with Santa.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham Rotary Club is holding it’s 41st Annual Auction now, (Nov. 19th), through 10:00pm December 5th 2012.

    Unlike past auctions, the Framingham Rotary Auction is now held entirely online. You can bid on holiday gifts and help raise money for local charities at www.rotaryauction.com

    Hundreds of items will be auctioned off including  sporting event tickets, electronics, jewelry, restaurant and store gift certificates, furniture & accessories, professional family photo portraits, and much more.

    Framingham, MA – Before listing the local venues where New Years Eve celebrations are taking place, we’d like to ask that readers remember those who lost their lives to drinking and driving related accidents this year, and ask that anyone planning to drink on New Years Eve to make sure they’ve planned ahead for how to get home at the end of the evening.

    To insure you make it home safely consider making arrangements with a designated driver, taking a limousine or making your  News Eve Party a Pajama Party and have your guests spend the night.

    Tommy’s Taxi will remain open ’round the clock on New Years Eve for those who don’t have any other way of getting home safely.
