  • Parking in Framingham Public Forum

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Town of Framingham, through its consultant the BETA Group Inc., is conducting a study of Framingham’s parking issues.

The study will evaluate the Town’s current parking policies, particularly the two-hour limit and the ban on overnight parking. The Town is interested in hearing what citizens and businesses have to say about parking in Framingham.

A public forum about parking is scheduled for:

    January 7, 2009 – 7:00 PM
The Blumer Room, (in the basement of Memorial Hall)

Come hear about what BETA has found regarding the Town’s parking issues, how other communities regulate parking, and what options are on the table to improve the situation. Please attend and let the Town and its representatives know what you think. They want to ensure that our parking regulations work for everyone, so they need your input!

For additional information, please contact the Community & Economic Development Division at: 508-532-5505, or planning.department@framingham.gov

  • Goodbye, Fabricplace

Fabricplace was one of those businesses that you took for granted would be there if you needed anything in the way of sewing, window treatments, or uphoulstery.  Oh what a fabric selection, and wouldn’t you like to dress as a bride again when seeing the bridal accessories?

After recently celebrating its 60th year in business, it was a shock to hear that it was closing.

When we visited at the end of October, most of the shelves were bare and many of the fixtures were sold.

At least some small area businesses may have benefited by being able to buy some display racks at discounted prices.

Now there is an empty parking lot, locked doors, and “Going Out of Business Signs” in the windows.
