FRAMINGHAM, MA – In 2008, Framingham High School’s Drama Company performed “Once on This Island”. The production won seven out of ten awards in state-wide competition, including best Musical, Director, Ensemble, Orchestra, Lighting Design, Scenic Design, and Technical Crew.
When FHS-DC was selected to perform in Scotland in August – as part of the world’s largest arts festival – Director Donna Wresinski decided that “Once on This Island” was the show to do. “Now people have one more chance to see this award-winning production right here in Framingham, MA – before it goes international in Edinburgh,” said Wresinski.

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Students from the MassBay Community College Therapeutic Massage Program have organized local Massage Therapists to raise money for rebuilding a school in Haiti.
The two-day massage event will take place at MassBay Community College Student Massage Clinic, Framingham Campus, 19 Flagg Drive, Framingham, MA 01702, Friday June 11 from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday June 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
More than 200 hours of service, both 1-hour relaxation massages and 15-minute seated/clothed neck and shoulder massages, will be available. All proceeds from the event will go to the MassBay Community College Rebuilding Haiti Task Force, which has partnered with the S.O.S. Enfants D’Haiti School in Cyvadier, Jacmel, Haiti.

FRAMINGHAM, MA – To raise funds for the Framingham High School athletics program, the girls field hockey team will be selling used sports equipment at the Holiday Marketplace on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at FHS.
The team would be grateful for any donations of cleats (and other athletic shoes), skates, bats, balls, mitts, shinguards, goggles, sticks (field hockey, ice hockey, lacrosse), racquets, etc. Youth and adult equipment will be accepted.
Donations may be placed in the collection boxes in the lobbies of McCarthy, Potter Road, and Stapleton Schools by December 4, 2009.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham High School is planning another Holiday Marketplace sponsored by the Parent Athletic Committee to benefit the FHS athletic program. The Marketplace will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 10am to 4pm at Framingham High School.
Exhibitors with high quality, original handmade items, artisans and boutique items such as knitting, quitting, pottery, jewelry, toys, home décor, holiday items and gifts will fill the gymnasium areas and beyond. Plan on taking your time to get through the marketplace; there will be lots to see and to buy for holiday giving.
Admissions fees for shoppers will only be $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for students and children over 12 years old.! There will be plenty of parking, police on duty, and refreshments will be available. All students working at the Marketplace are athletes lending their support and thanks for your participation in the Marketplace.

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Annie Murphy, Executive Director of the Framingham History Center announced that she received word of a a $100,000 grant from American Express to restore the Edgell Memorial Library’s windows.
Nearly 2.5 million people voted in the Partners In Preservation competition. The Edgell Library won 70f the vote, placing 4th out of 25, with in an estimated 175,000 votes. This is remarkable given our “dark horse” status among so many notable Boston institutions, including the Paul Revere house and the Aquarium.
The Framingham History Center is hosting the exhibition “Windows on Edgell’s Past, Present, and Future” amd will be open Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, June 17th from 5 to 8 p.m.
