    David Hornfischer Joins BoSox Club Board of Directors
    Framingham's own David Hornfischer added to the Bosox Club Board of Directors.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – David Hornfischer of Framingham, MA was recently named a director of the BoSox Club, the Red Sox leading fan club.

    Hornfischer who recently retired as Senior Vice President/ Treasurer of Boston’s Berklee College of Music, is also a board member of the Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham where his roles are as diverse as organization Treasurer and host of the monthly Amazing Open Comedy Mique Show.

    Founded in 1967, The BoSox Club is a non-profit Booster Club that supports the Boston Red Sox. In addition to providing activities such as luncheons and BBQ events with direct access to players and Red Sox personnel, and access to spring training events/tickets, the Club takes an active role in supporting such charities as The Red Sox Foundation, The Jimmy Fund and The Foundation to be Named Later.

    One of the most popular BoSox events is their Annual Family Day, where members are treated to a player-run baseball seminar and tickets to a summer game.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Roadwork on several major capital improvement projects in town will continue this week, (Monday through Friday, June 20 – 24, 2011).

    Major delays due to backed up traffic and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Joseph P. Keefe Regional Vocational School, (otherwise known as “Keefe Tech”), is looking for instructors for fall/evening adult continuing education cooking classes.

    Instructors will teach one or two 1-night classes which will meet Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm between September 26th and December 15th, 2011 at Keefe Tech, 750 Winter St., Framingham, MA 01702.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Once again, Robinson’s Hardware and the merchants of the Pinefield Shopping Center in Saxonville are hosting and a family fun (and dog friendly) event for a good cause.

    On Saturday June 18, 2011 from 10:00AM ’til 2:00PM,the shopping center merchants are raising money in support of the Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog organization which raises money to purchase bullet proof vests for K-9 officers (more…)

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Town of Framingham Conservation Commissioner Nicola Cataldo sent out an email reminding residents that several species of turtles are currently nesting around town.

     

    The turtles which sometimes nest hundreds of yards from the many ponds and slower moving parts of the Sudbury River where they live will frequently attempt to cross roadways.

    Residents are advised to be on the lookout for the turtles and avoid running them over.

    Joseph P. Keefe Technical School juniors Brad Naugler of Holliston and Daniel Coelho, Matt Rivers, and Hugo DeAlmeida of Framingham are serving as video production interns at Framingham Public Access Corporation (FPAC).

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Four Joseph P. Keefe Technical School juniors are learning Video Production skills through hands-on experience at their internships at Framingham Public Access Corporation (FPAC).

    The internship opportunities were coordinated by FPAC Executive Director Bill McColgan, Keefe Tech Superintendent-Director James Lynch, and School Committee member and FPAC Board of Directors member John Kahn. “We sat down and discussed creating a community partnership between our organizations,” said McColgan. “We thought that creating these internship opportunities were a great first step.”

    Daniel Coelho, Hugo DeAlmeida, and Matt Rivers of Framingham and Brad Naugler of Holliston were chosen as student interns by Keefe Administrators based on recommendations from their teachers.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Candidates for the upcoming 2011 Framingham Annual Town Election are invited to submit position papers including a brief bio and other info related to their candidacy which will be published in a special Election 2011 section of this website.

    While many candidates could write a short novel about any single issue they are passionate about, we are asking that “positions” be simply stated, e.g.- “For city form of government“, “Against legalized hemp production“, “For removing dams and letting Sudbury River clean itself“, etc.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – It will probably be several hours before Santa makes it to Framingham, or even to the New England coast.

    Luckily with the help of NORAD, (The North American Aerospace Defense Command), you can track Santa’s progress and see him fly in and out of suburban cities, country towns and rural villages as he makes his way around the world for Christmas 2010.

    When we last checked he was in Bignona, Senegal and headed for Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – After months of planning, casting, rehearsing and finally performing the play — “The Laramie Project” closed after its second sellout night at Framingham High School.

    I didn’t see the play. I’ll admit to never going to a play unless my kid was in it. What I did see and hear were an incredible amount of civil rights “in action” and discussed and debated in the schools and on the streets of Framingham.

    The photo of Matthew Shepard on this page is so nobody forgets that the The Laramie Project is about a murder. A 21 year old kid was killed by two cowards.  The murderers attempted to use the fact that Matthew Shepard was gay as an excuse for how their planned robbery went very wrong.

    The killers were Meth-heads.  They were too lazy to work for a living. The robbery was all about “getting money for drugs“.  They singled out (more…)

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Be sure to make your way down to Saxonville on December 4, 2010 from 11:00am – 4:00pm for the 6th Annual “Jingle Bell Days“.

    For the past five years, Jeff Underwood of Robinson’s Hardware has pulled together the other merchants at Pinefield Shopping Plaza, (along with a few 2-legged and 4-legged special guests) for “Jingle Bell Days”.

    This year Toys for Tots are being collected for the Marine Corps., Please Bring a Toy to Donate!
