  • Alice in Wonderland Read on the Radio

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Beginning Monday, May 7, 2007, Thursday, May 10, 2007 and the following Monday, May 14, 2007, The MetroWest Radio Reading Service will present the
    book, “Alice In Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll recorded and read by Michael McGurk, a McAuliffe Charter School student in Framingham.

    All episodes of this book will air at 2-30 p.m. The MetroWest Radio Reading Service can be accessed through wdjm 91.3 fm when students are not programming, or by special radio by contacting the Disability Services Office at Framingham State College at 508-626-4627.

  • Global Warming “Town Meeting” at Framingham State College

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Framingham State College Professor Lisa Eck invites all interested members of the community to attend and participate in a Town Meeting on Global Warming that will take place Monday, April 30th, 2007 at 7 pm in the Athletic Center on the FSC campus.

    You’ve seen the Documentary, ” An Inconvenient Truth”, What Next ?

    Framingham State College invites all interested members of the community to participate in our campus wide initiative to educate ourselves on global warming, with an eye towards informed action. The Town meeting will be run as a question and answer session with Climate Activists Keith Bergman and Donna Kramer Merritt of the Climate Project and members of the FSC faculty – from Biology, Geography, Sociology and Philosophy.

    Everyone is welcome to attend.

  • Boston Marathon in Framingham

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Reminders about the Boston Marathon on April 16, 2007:

    • Route 135 will be closed from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM
    • Pearl Street Parking Garage will open at 6:00 AM — No Fee on Marathon Day! — Open garage – cars can enter and leave anytime
    • Trains are running on a normal weekday schedule

    Getting To Downtown Framingham

    Coming from the north or south – The Town of Framingham’s LIFT Public Transit System will operate LIFT bus routes 3 and 6 on Patriots Day allowing many MetroWest area residents to leave their automobiles at home. There will be no charge.

    Coming from the east or west – Take the MBTA Commuter Train into Downtown Framingham.     The Framingham Police Department suggests that you take Public Transportation when possible.
