    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University football team received a rushing touchdown and two passing touchdowns from junior Nicolas Goffredo (Hyde Park, MA) as the Rams rushed into the win column with a 45-21 victory over UMass Dartmouth this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Bowditch Field.

    UMass Dartmouth won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff. They took advantage with a five play, 70 yard drive capped by a 57-yard touchdown from Aviles-Santos to Machado to take a 7-0 lead after the extra point.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — After a year away from the gridiron, the Framingham State University RAMs football team opened the 2021 season with a 31-0 loss to number 15 ranked N.Y. State University of Brockport Golden Eagles in non-conference action at Bowditch Field.

    The Rams fumbled on the opening play of the game giving Brockport the ball on the 32-yard line. Five plays later Cheshire and Cromer connected for a 16 yard score and a 7-0 lead with 12:20 on the clock after earning the extra point after touchdown.

    Framingham, MA – The Framingham State University football team had four interceptions including one returned for a touchdown by senior Matt Mangano (Winchester, MA) as the Rams defeated Endicott College 20-17 in non-conference action this afternoon at Bowditch Field.

    Framingham State forced five turnovers in the game, four interceptions and one fumble, which they converted into a pair of scores.  Mangano had a pair of interceptions and three tackles, while junior Tyllor McDonald (Springfield, MA) and sophomore Jaquan Harris (Randolph, MA) each had picks in the waning minutes of the game to help secure the victory.

    The Rams (1-0) turned the ball over on downs near midfield on the first possession of the game and Endicott (0-1) would need just one play, a 47-yard touchdown toss from senior Drew Frenette (New Bedford, MA) to junior Alec Matys (Woburn, MA), to take the game’s first lead. After Kyle Regan (Nashua, NH) converted the extra point, the Gulls led 7-0 with 11:37 on the clock.

    Junior Tyler Calitri (West Hartford, Conn.) intercepted Matt Silva (Dracut, MA) on the Rams ensuing possession.  The Gulls drove deep into Ram territory on the strength of Frenette’s arm, but senior Kevin Donahue (Norfolk, MA) was able to deflect a Frenette pass.  Mangano was right there to make the pick and raced 71 yards to the end zone for the touchdown.     FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University defense stopped the Bridgewater State University Bears on a fourth down with 1:29 remaining in the game to preserve a 28-20 victory in New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division action in Framingham on Homecoming and Family Weekend.

    With the win the Rams even their record at 2-2 on the year and 1-0 in the division, while the Bears suffer their first loss and are 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the Bogan Division.

    The Rams jumped out to a 21-0 first half lead on a pair of touchdown passes from freshman quarterback Matt Silva (Dracut, Mass.) to senior wide out James McCarthy (Newton, Mass.). The first Silva to McCarthy connection – a 6-yard strike – came with 4:03 remaining in (more…)
