    Framingham Traffic / Detour Signs
    Be prepared to stop, (and wait), as construction continues on many roads in Framingham.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Motorists are advised that there may be construction work being performed during daytime hours on the following roads in Framingham during the week of June 27th – July 3rd, 2021. Please note: construction schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

    Blackberry Lane (Sewer Pump Station) – Work continues. Expect moderate delays. A detour will be in effect during construction.

    Edgell Road (Gas Main Replacement) – Eversource gas will continue replacing gas main on Edgell Road between the Nobscot intersection and Donovan Drive. Expect moderate delays. Lane shifts and/or a one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect.

  • Framingham Water Department Receives MassDEP Public Water System Award

    Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham’s Water Department has received a Public Water System Award from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) for outstanding performance and achievements in the Large Consecutive Community Systems Category for the calendar year 2020.

    According to MassDEP, the criteria used to select eligible public water systems for this award include excellent water service to the public, no violations or non-compliance issues, and efforts that support public water supply services, such as source water protection, water quality, and conservation.

  • U.S. Mint Issues Christa McAuliffe Commemorative Silver Dollar

    FRAMINGHAM, MA and PHILADELPHIA, PA – The United States Mint has begun taking orders for a 2021 Silver Dollar to commemorate Christa McAuliffe, who grew up in the and went on the become the First Teacher in Space and was tragically killed in the 1986 NASA Challenger Space Shuttle explosion.

    Christa McAuliffe, who was born Sharon Christa Corrigan, but known as “Christa” since childhood, grew up off Water Street and graduated from Framingham’s Marian High School in 1966. She went on to earn her bachelors degree at Framingham State College, studying American History and Education, then earned her Masters Degree in Education from Bowie State College.
