  • Framingham Rotary Auction Coming Up

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The 34th annual Framingham Rotary Auction will be televised live in Framingham, Dec. 6 and 7 on RCN Channel 8 (also in Natick, Needham, and Newton, Allston, Arlington, Boston (some areas), Brighton, Brookline, Dedham, Hyde Park, Lexington, Somerville, Stoneham, Wakefield, Waltham, Watertown) and Comcast Channel 9.

    On Tueday and Wednesday Night call 508-405-2500 for bidding.

    Pre-bidding using the Web Site has begun!!

    Last year, Framingham Rotary donated over $30,000….

    Rotary is synonymous with community service. Local Rotary Clubs work tirelessly to support charities in their areas. In Framingham, the primary Rotary fundraising event is the annual Auction.

    All of the Auction’s net proceeds are donated to Metrowest charities. Awards are made to programs and services that directly benefit our most needy population.

    The effort that goes into producing the Auction is immense. It involves more than 65 Rotarians, their families and friends, and others. Hundreds of businesses and individuals donate goods to be auctioned on live television every year.

  • McAuliffe Branch Library to Close for Alterations

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The McAuliffe Branch of the Framingham Library will be closed Friday, December 9 at 3:00 p.m. through Friday, December 16th to complete alterations necessary to improve access for those with disabilities.

    Shelving units will be disassembled and moved and new shelving and doors will be installed. The necessary repairs have been mandated by the state’s Architectural Access Board.

    Library materials that have been checked out from McAuliffe will not be due back during the closure. The bookdrop will be available for those who want to drop off materials.

    The hope is that McAuliffe will reopen no later than 9 a.m. on Sat., December 17th and it is possible that it may reopen sooner.

    Patrons are urged to check the library’s website: www.framinghamlibrary.org or call the Main Library after December 14, for updated information.

  • 14th Annual Framingham Tree Lighting

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The 14th annual tree lighting will be held Friday, Dec. 2nd at the Memorial Building, Concord St., Downtown Framingham.

    Festivities begin at 6:45 with the PAC Family Players – Holiday Revelry Selections.

    At 7 p.m. there is musical entertainment by the Framingham Girl Scouts.

    At 7:15 p.m. Santa Claus arrives at the Memorial Building courtesy of the Framingham Fire Department.

    At 7:30 the Framingham Public Schools Fifth Grade Band performs while there are photos with Santa, candy canes, cookies, and hot chocolate.

    WKOX’s Scott Gibbons will host. Visit the framingham.com table for a free raffle of a $ 100 gift certificate to InnSeason Resorts plus goodie bags and giveaways.
