    Framingham Police Dept Awarded $61,918.00 for Municipal Road Safety Program

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Today, as part of $10.9 Million in federal grant funds slated for Massachusetts to improve road safety, the Framingham Police Department was awarded $61,918.00 for its Municipal Road Safety Program.

    Framingham Police submitted plans for improved traffic safety training, equipment, and enforcement in a competitive grant process and was one of only 186 municipal and MA state agencies to be awarded grant monies.

    Framingham Approved for Transportation Help by Massachusetts National Guard

    MA National Guard to help busing Framingham Public School students to school using non-military passenger vans dur to local and national shortage of “CDL” school bus drivers.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — On Monday, September 13, 2021, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker activated the Massachusetts National Guard to help with busing students to school as districts and transportation providers across the country struggle to hire enough CDL (yellow school bus) and 7D (van) drivers.

    After hearing about this option for selected school districts in Massachusetts, Dr. Robert Tremblay, Superintendent of the Framingham Public Schools, personally reached out to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Commissioner to be included in this effort to address the Framingham Public Schools (FPS) bus driver shortage. Within 24 hours, the FPS request was reviewed and approved.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has proclaimed July 11 – 17, 2021, to be Hurricane Preparedness Week to emphasize both the Commonwealth’s vulnerability to tropical storms and hurricanes and the importance of preparing for their impacts.

    “As we saw during our recent experience with Tropical Storm Elsa, planning and preparing in advance for a tropical storm or hurricane can help protect individuals and families and limit damage to property,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “We encourage residents in every part of the Commonwealth to develop an emergency plan, prepare emergency supplies and stay informed throughout hurricane season.”

    Framingham Receives $475,600 for Remote Learning Enrichment Programs

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The City of Framingham has received $475,600.00 for Remote Learning Support Services through the Federal CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund and the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund.

    The purpose of the Remote Learning Support Grant program is to promote and support equitable access to affordable, safe, and supportive environments for children to engage remotely in instructional time during the school day.

Governor Karyn Polito will join officials from the Town of Framingham, (and officials from the Town of Holliston), in the Ablondi Room of the Memorial Building located at 150 Concord Street, Framingham, MA to sign a Community Compact.

    The Executive Branch and the Town of Framingham’s Community Compact is a commitment to the implementation of new “best practice initiatives” in the categories of Information Technology: Transparency and Education; Administration and Finance.

    The Community Compact provides municipalities with incentives for state grant funds and technical assistance to refine and implement best practices in a Community’s chosen areas.     FRAMINGHAM, MA – Its that time again folks, when Massachusetts politics heat up even more than usual and just about anything goes.

    Yes, it’s election time for the Massachusetts Governor, Treasurer, State Reps and few other other hot seats.

    On top the contested races, and likely to get more people out to vote are three ballot questions, two of which have a lot of people talking.

    Rather than “report”, I figured I just open up a with “Ready, Aim, Fire!”… and let you post ANYTHING related to any political race or ballot question that directly or indirectly affects Framingham, MA residents.
