  • Annual Meeting of Historical Society says Farewell to Director

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham Historical Society & Museum will say farewell to Director Tom Harris at its annual meeting on Thurs., June 2nd, 7 p.m. at the Edgell Memorial Library on Oak St.

    The meeting will be one of information and celebration as well as a sendoff for Harris, who has accepted a position in New Jersey.

    Donna Howland, Library Trustee & Chairman of the 150th Anniversary Committee, will present a talk about 150 years of History of the Framingham Public Library. The Portuguese Club of Framingham will receive special recognition in honor of its 50th anniversary and Charlene Frary will receive “Volunteer of the Year” award.

    The museum’s curator, Dana Dauterman Ricciardi, will comment on the current exhibition, “Toward Victory: Winning World War II from Home.”

    The meeting is free and open to the public.

  • Friends of Saxonville Annual Meeting set for Tues. April 12th

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Friends of Saxonville will hold their annual meeting on Tues., April 12th, at Stapleton Elementary School, Elm St. at 6:30 p.m.

    They will present updates on their initiatives, honor special volunteers, and elect officers. Every year they present a special feature. This year the Friends have arranged for a special Saxonville edition of the popular Framingham Trivia Cable Show with participation from the audience.
