  • Patriotic Event in Honor of our Veterans

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — A bus trip to Bourne National Cemetery sponsored by Framingham Lodge No 1264 B.P.O ELKS is planned for Sunday May 25th, 2008.

    The schedule is as follows:

    • 10:30 AM Bus leaves ELKS parking lot, 450 Union Ave, Framingham
    • 1:00 PM Memorial Day Ceremony Maritime Band & Wreath placement
    • 4:00 PM Cook out at the Framingham Lodge

    The cost for this event is $15, which includes transportation – Deluxe Ritche Bus, box lunch and cookout.

    First come, first serve, space is limited to 52 seats.

    RSVP before May 17th by sending check to: Framingham Lodge No 1264, Box 4747, Framingham, MA 01704. Please include “Bourne trip” on the memo line.

    Cook out only is $10.

    Bus ride and cook out is open to the public, if you cannot attend, consider sponsoring a veteran.

  • Framingham Hazardous Waste Day Saturday May 10, 2008

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Town of Framingham’s 2008 Hazardous Waste Day is Saturday, May 10. Time is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Location is the McCarthy School Parking Lot on Flagg Drive.

    This is for Framingham residents only. Proof of residency is required and photo ID. No commercial waste. Reduce long waits by combining waste with your neighbors and car pool.

    Accepted: pesticides, herbicides, bug sprays, rodent poisons, paint thinner, urethans, oil or enamel paints, lead based paints, pool & spa chemicals, concentrated fertilizers, cleaning solvents, caustic cleaners, degreaser, photo chemicals, old gasoline/kerosene, diesel oil, aerosol cans containing paint, mercury-containing devices.

    Do not bring: radioactive waste, explosives, gunpowder, flares, ammunition, PCB oils, bulk chemicals/oil, asbestos, medical/biochemical waste or latex paint.

  • Students Display Artwork at Barnes and Noble, Shoppers World

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Metrowest community is invited to enjoy an art exhibit showcasing creative works made by students from the MetroWest Jewish Day School(MWJDS) of Framingham.

    The works are exhibited at Barnes and Noble at Shoppers World for the month of February; visit during school vacation. All 54 students have at least one piece of art displayed. Represented are portraits of Jerusalem, designs of Native American Molas, alphabet art in the style of Stuart Davis, mathematical designs in symmetry and two collaborative quilts.

    The quilts were crafted by students to represent their images of Israel and Jewish life as we anticipate the celebration of Israel’s 60th birthday. MWJDS welcomes eager learners for grades K – 6.
