The Zing Fling!…Amazing Things Arts Center Annual Mixer and Live Auction
Amazing Things Arts Center will be conducting its annual election of new Board members followed by its ANNUAL MEMBER MIXER, THE ZING FLING 7PM-10:00PM. All are welcome to participate. Festivities include dancing, buffet and cash bar as well as the opportunity to bid on auction items to benefit The Center. This year we’ll be dancing and partying to the great sounds of The Boston Soul Review who feature timeless classics, everyone’s favorite dance hits of the 60’s and 70’s. From Otis Redding, The Temptations, Sam & Dave, Aretha, Wilson Pickett, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Al Green, Etta James, on through Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes (they feature the original saxophonist of the Bluenotes in the band), the Commodores, Stevie Wonder, Donna Summer, the O’Jays, and all the great disco and funky dance music of the 70s, you get the idea.During the months of October and November, an online Silent Auction fundraiser will also be conducted, with a goal to raise funds to support operations in 2010. It is our most important fundraiser of the year for operational support. Auction items are generously donated by businesses, and local artists. All sales benefit Amazing Things. Bidding for on-line auction items will be finalized before The Zing Fling. There will be a live auction for other select items during the evening Party Mixer. The auctioneer for the live auction will be none other than the extraordinary Gary Harding. This is Gary’s second year at the event. All successful bids will be announced as the evening proceeds. Throughout the evening, guests will have a wonderful buffet, music, and dancing while enjoying the company of other Amazing members, friends and donors. Please visit the on-line auction at www.amazingthings.org/auction during the month of October/November. You can also visit the Downstairs Gallery at our wonderful new home at 160 Hollis St, Framingham at any time to view the art donated for auction this year.
