The Jason Yeager Trio Plus 1 and The Mark Zaleski Sextet
Modern straight-ahead jazz and improvisation combined with infectious African and South American grooves, Middle Eastern modes, and classically inspired counterpoint — these elements only begin to describe the dynamic and collaborative sound of the Jason Yeager Trio. Rooted in the jazz tradition but forward-thinking in their bringing of diverse life and cultural experiences together, this ensemble is emerging as one of the music’s most exciting up-and-coming jazz trios. After touring with Jethro Tull and sharing the stage with the likes of Dave Brubeck, Christian McBride and Robin Eubanks, Mark Zaleski brings his six-piece jazz/modern-rock fusion group to the Zing. They are some of the nation’s finest young talent (aged between 21-26 years old) and based in the Boston area. Mark first performed at ATAC as a high school student, and he returns now with this great ensemble.
