The Enigmatic Music of Johann Sebastian Bach
7:00pm–GUEST SPEAKER: Gil Harel, Ph.D., CUNY Baruch College.Dismissed during the late baroque era as unnecessarily complex and taxing on the ears, J.S. Bach’s music was lost and forgotten for nearly a century after his death. Since the 19th century, however, Bach has occupied an important spot in the canon of Western European art music.
