The Blue Lights Jug Band with Outrageous Fortune opening
Drawing on a wide variety of traditional music forms, the Bluelights have created a new musical style respecting equally the past and present. Not to be pinned down this Blue Lights show will be packed with early jazz, blues, swing, standards, jug band, gospel, pop music from the turn of the century and roots rock’n’roll. Continually receiving great reviews, their most recent triumph was to win the 2008 State of CT Blues Challenge and the opportunity to represent their state in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee. Outrageous Fortune are a Boston-based jug band. The trio features Chris Welles on guitar, Rod Thomas on harmonica and Dan Dick on jug, bass and banjo.
