Photographer Neal Rantoul to discuss work (at Danforth Museum)
On Wednesday, April 10, photographer Neal Rantoul will talk about his work at the Danforth Museum of Art. The lecture starts at noon and is free to Danforth members, or free with cost of admission for nonmembers. His exhibit, “Neal Rantoul: Wheat, Washington, 2009-2012,” opens April 7, 2013, and focuses on wheat fields near Pullman, Washington. Rantoul’s aerial photographs invite the viewer to explore a dynamic landscape. His unique perspective lends new life to America’s amber waves of grain, the likes of which inspired Katherine Lee Bates’ hymn “America the Beautiful,” in addition to influencing the work of countless other photographers and painters throughout history.
