New Deal Legacies: Post Office Art in Massachusetts

Dr. Jon Huibregtse, Chair, History Dept., Framingham State College. 10:00am-11:30am Room. 415.One overlooked New Deal program was the Treasury Dept.’s efforts to create murals and other art for display in Post Offices and federal buildings. It served many purposes, including the employment of artists, during the Great Depression.Refreshments. This lifelong learning series is a collaboration between Framingham Public Library and Framingham State College. Five sessions will take place at the library and five at the college.
