Local History Talk: “A Rite of Return: Serendipity and Historiography in the Recreation of the Life of Henry Knight Dyer (1846-1912), President of the Dennison Mfg. Co.”
7:00pm.–Guest Speaker: Mr. Benjamin Feldman, historian and author. The Framingham Public Library and the Framingham History Center are pleased to present this local history talk. Following the discovery of an expense book dated 1870 owned by Henry Knight Dyer, Mr. Feldman conducted extensive research on Dennison’s first non-family member president. He chronicles the rise of Dyer from office boy to captaining an enormous international paper products company. Delving into Dyer’s personal life, he unravels the mystery surrounding his ostensibly close long-term marriage to Caroline Dyer, and her burial in an unmarked grave hundreds of yards from the Dyer family gravesite. Refreshments provided by Trader Joe’s! Framingham Public Library, Costin Room, 49 Lexington St.
