Know Before You Go: Exploring Ballot Question 3
On Wednesday, October 10, at 7:00 p.m., The Plymouth Church in Framingham will present “Know before You Go: Exploring Ballot Question 3,” a panel discussion and Q&A session on the issue of transgender rights in public accommodations. Question 3 on the November 6 ballot is a referendum on the 2016 Massachusetts law prohibiting discrimination against transgender people in public spaces. A “Yes” vote on Question 3 would uphold the non-discrimination provisions, while a “No” vote would repeal the law. Speakers include Tracy McKay, mother of two transgender children, and Taj Smith, Faith Organizing Director of Freedom for All Massachusetts, a bipartisan coalition working to update civil rights laws to include nondiscrimination protections for transgender people. All voters are encouraged to attend. Your presence will help demonstrate to our communities the importance of being informed before voting in November. The Plymouth Church in Framingham is handicapped-accessible, with ample parking behind the building. Light refreshments will be served after the program. The Plymouth Church in Framingham is located at 87 Edgell Road in Framingham, MA.
