Framingham Public Library Main Library Book Discussion: Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline
7:00pm–Orphan trains ran regularly from the cities on the East coast to the farmlands of the Midwest from 1854 to 1929, transporting thousands of abandoned children whose fate was determined by pure luck. Vivian Daly was one such orphan, and returns to the East later in life. A turbulent teen, Molly Ayer, is assigned to clean Vivian’s attic, and through the memorabilia stored there, the two discover that they have a lot in common. LOCATION: Town Hall, Nevins Conference Room (Room113).
