Framingham Memorial Day Program 2011
The Town of Framingham will be holding a program of Memorial Day events on Monday, May 30, 2011. This year’s program will have a Civil War theme honoring the 150th Anniversary of the “War Between the States”. The program begins at 8:00AM at the Memorial Building, and will continue on to the various cemeteries throughout the town, with special attention to the more than 250 Civil War veterans who’s final resting places are in Framingham. At 11:35AM, participants will return to the Memorial Building where the Framingham Veterans Council, Framingham Firefighters, Cub Scouts, elected officials, clergy and a civil war re-enactor will honor our fallen soldiers. Mrs. Paulette Metcalf, Gold Star Mother of SSG Scot J. Metcalf will present the Metcalf Prize to the winning essayist. Framingham Firefighters, Local 1652 will retire colors at 12:50PM, closing the program at 1:00PM.
