Anthony Geraci Sextet
Pianist and composer Anthony Geraci has accompanied a virtual who’s who of Classic Blues and Jazz Musicians. From Blues giants Muddy Waters, Big Mama Thornton and Otis Rush, to Jazz greats such as saxophonist Hal Singer and guitarist Ed Cherry (Dizzy Gillespie,) all have had Anthony’s distinct style of piano playing accompany them. As an original member of Sugar Ray and the Bluetones, and Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters he has traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East playing at the most prestigious festivals in these countries. His new CD The Gift on the Sunset Jazz Record label showcases his compositional as well as his unique style of piano playing. Accompanying Anthony will be the lovely actress, dancer and vocalist Taryn Noelle; the very gifted and inventive reedman Paul Ahlstrand; trumpeter Barry Reis (who is also featured with the Joe Lovano Nonet;) the solid rhythm section of acoustic bassist Anthony Santor and consummate drummer Gabe Jarret (who’s father Keith Jarrett is unquestionably one of the finest jazz pianists of all times.)
