    Fuller Middle Students learning t.v. production in after-school club are finalists in county-wide Public Service Announcement contest.

    Framingham, MA – Sixth and seventh graders from the Fuller Middle School who have participated in an after-school program at Framingham Public Access are among the finalists in Middlesex County District Attorney Gerry Leone’s new Cyber-Safety PSA Contest.

    Joseph P. Keefe Technical School juniors Brad Naugler of Holliston and Daniel Coelho, Matt Rivers, and Hugo DeAlmeida of Framingham are serving as video production interns at Framingham Public Access Corporation (FPAC).

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Four Joseph P. Keefe Technical School juniors are learning Video Production skills through hands-on experience at their internships at Framingham Public Access Corporation (FPAC).

    The internship opportunities were coordinated by FPAC Executive Director Bill McColgan, Keefe Tech Superintendent-Director James Lynch, and School Committee member and FPAC Board of Directors member John Kahn. “We sat down and discussed creating a community partnership between our organizations,” said McColgan. “We thought that creating these internship opportunities were a great first step.”

    Daniel Coelho, Hugo DeAlmeida, and Matt Rivers of Framingham and Brad Naugler of Holliston were chosen as student interns by Keefe Administrators based on recommendations from their teachers.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham Teachers Association is sponsoring a screening of “Race to Nowhere” in the Framingham High School Auditorium on Monday, April 25, 2011, from 7:00Pm – 9:00PM.

    The film which is currently screening at many schools and communities across the country is, “a call to action for families, educators, and policy makers to challenge current assumptions on how to best prepare the youth of America to become healthy, bright, contributing and leading citizens.”

  • Salute To Framingham Announces Honorees

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – In 1992, the Salute to Framingham was created to honor individuals for their outstanding commitment and service to Framingham’s youth. Since then, the Salute to Framingham has become one of Framingham’s most celebrated annual events. This year’s honorees join a select group of people who have made a real difference in the lives of the children of Framingham.

    On Thursday, March 24th, Salute to Framingham will honor Michael Grilli and Joey Sementelli.

    In addition to these honorees, the Salute program also recognizes Framingham teachers and staff who make each day “special” in our public schools.  We also acknowledge graduating FHS students who positively impact the school community.

    This year, the Salute to Framingham will present the Jim O’Connor Community Service Award to F-SEPAC (Framingham Special Education Parent Advisory Council).  Named for former FHS Athletic Director and founder of the Salute to Framingham, this award honors an organization whose work benefits the youth of Framingham. Framingham Special Education Parent Advisory Council is co-chaired by Cheryl Caira and Susan Arndt.

    The Salute to Framingham Dinner will take place on Thursday, March 24th at the Sheraton Framingham Ballroom.  Complete details and ticket information are available at:

    Another snow day!

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Due to snow, Framingham Public Schools are canceled today, Friday, January 21st, 2011.

    School administration central offices will be open during normal hours.

    Residents are reminded that there is no parking on arterial roads during a snow emergency, and that even if cars are parked legally on non-arterial roads they may be towed if they interfere with snow plowing.

  • After School Activities and Athletics Cancelled

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Due to the weather, students will be released from the High School at 1:00 PM, (today, January 18, 2011), in order to allow our buses to run as on time as possible for the middle and elementary schools.

    All after school activities and athletics are cancelled.  After School Adventures at Woodrow Wilson is cancelled.  The only exceptions are the YMCA and Extended Day Programs will operate as normal.

    No School Thursday!

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – Framingham Public Schools will remain closed on Thursday, January 13, 2011.

    School administration offices will be open.

    Since Friday, (1/14),  was already scheduled as a professional development day for elementary, middle and high school, and Monday, (1/17),  school is closed for Martin Luther King Day, Framingham schools are effectively closed for the next 5 days.

    Barring any unforeseen circumstances, school will resume on Tuesday, January 18th.

    (High school students will be returning to exams 1/18 through 1/21).
