Jewish Special Education for Grades 2-4 at Temple Beth Sholom, Framingham, MA
FRAMINGHAM, MA – Temple Beth Sholom is home to a Jewish special education Sunday School pilot program called Tza-adim L’Torah, (Footsteps to Torah).
The program is designed specifically for children in Grades 2-4, “who have moderate to severe special needs requiring individualized instruction”, and is the only program of its kind in the Metrowest area.

FRAMINGHAM, MA– The Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni, (“IAFSA”), a self-governing, non-profit organization established in 1874 which receives and administers funds that provide scholarships and interest-free loans to FSU students, has announced its list of 2011-2012 scholarship winners.
Scholarships, (and loan funding), are made possible by donations, bequests, and rental of the Alumni House.
Scholarships ranged from $500 to $2500.
Verena Lutz and Mariya Dzhyoyeva were the only Framingham residents among the 2011-2012 recipients. Both received a “Dorothy Larned Scholarship” award. The scholarship, which encourages the sharing of international cultures was (more…)
Framingham School Bus transportation applications are due by July 15, 2011.
FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham School Department has released information and is now accepting applications for school bus passes for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year.
Applications and full payment of school bus transportation fees are due by July 15th, 2011.
FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham State University football program is sponsoring a youth football camp July 25-28, 2011 from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the university’s Maple Street field.
The “no-contact” camp is open to players age 8 through 15.
Space is limited to the first 100 players to register, (to maintain a 10:1 player coach ratio).
Participants must submit medical release form with registration and $120 (non-refundable) fee.

FRAMINGHAM, MA – State Rep. Tom Sannicandro, (D-MA 7th Middlesex District), who represents constituents in Framingham and Ashland, met with supporters this morning before a hearing on House Bill No. H159.
The legislation if approved will amend Massachusetts General Law, (MGL Ch. 71, Sec. 38G) to define a special “Transitional Services” teacher license.

Framingham, MA – Joseph P. Keefe Technical School Superintendent-Director James Lynch is pleased to announce that Jonathan Evans, current Director of Student Services, will succeed Patricia Canali as the school’s new Principal.
Superintendent Lynch stated that Evans’ appointment is effective July 1, 2011. According to Lynch, “I have made this decision after a very thorough search process that included a broadly publicized posting, 14 applicants, 6 semifinalists, 4 finalists, two lengthy and probing interviews, and a detailed review of recommendations and references. I am convinced that Mr. Evans is the very best candidate for this important leadership position. I look forward to working with him as Principal and as we go forward to continue to improve our school and service our students.”
Evans has served the Keefe Tech school community for 15 years, beginning his career as an intern in the Guidance Department in while he was earning a Master of Education in Counseling. He came aboard as a full-time Guidance Counselor in the 1997-1998 school year, and advanced to the position of Lead Counselor and then Director of Guidance and Admissions over the next ten years. FRAMINGHAM, MA – During her three years as the Principal of Joseph P. Keefe Technical School, Patricia Murray Canali’s commitment to the school community, students, and faculty has left a mark that will not be soon forgotten when she retires at the close of the 2010-2011 school year.
“She brought everything she had every day,” said Superintendent-Director James Lynch. “During her time at Keefe, she set a new standard of commitment by a leader to the school community.”
With a career that began in career technical education more than thirty years ago, Canali has served in the roles of ESL Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Director of Guidance and Assistant Principal at career technical high schools and traditional comprehensive high schools throughout Massachusetts before joining the Keefe Tech administrative team as Principal in July of 2008.

FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Joseph P. Keefe Regional Vocational School, (otherwise known as “Keefe Tech”), is looking for instructors for fall/evening adult continuing education cooking classes.
Instructors will teach one or two 1-night classes which will meet Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm between September 26th and December 15th, 2011 at Keefe Tech, 750 Winter St., Framingham, MA 01702.
Courses for almost any type of food preparation will be considered, but they are specifically interested in (more…)
