  • Turkey Day Run

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham Police Association and the Framingham Fire Department Local 1652 are sponsoring the 14th Annual Turkey Classic Road Race.

    The race is on Thanksgiving Day at 8 a.m. The 3.1 mile course begins and ends at the Framingham Police Station, Union Ave., Downtown Framingham. There is a cash prize of $ 100 to the top male and female finishers in several categories.

    The entry fee is $ 20 for pre-registrants with proceeds benefiting the Women’s Independent Network and the Veteran’s Outreach Center.

    The first 600 pre-registrants will receive a free long-sleeved T-Shirt.

    Participants can also sign up the day of the race for $ 20, but will not receive a free T-Shirt. The race is limited to 1,000 runners.

    You can sign up online at active.com or download a race application from greystoneracing.net.

    Applications are also available at the Framingham Police Station.

  • First Annual FHS Holiday Marketplace

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham High School is planning a Holiday Marketplace sponsored by the Parent Athletic Committee to benefit the FHS athletic program. The marketplace will take place on Saturday December 6, 2008 from 10 am to 4 pm at Framingham High School.

    Dont’ miss this event! Organizers have rounded up 90 exhibitors with high quality, original handmade items,boutique items such as knitting, quilting, pottery, jewelry, toys, home décor, holiday items and gifts.

    With the marketplace around the holidays expectations are for a busy marketplace supported by a town of 65,000 people and a student body of FHS of over 2,000 students and 400 faculty/staff.

  • Annual Art Doyle Road Race

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — On Saturday, May 10, 2008, the Greater Framingham Track Club, in conjunction with Framingham State College, will sponsor a 3.2 mile road race. This event is a yearly tribute to a beloved teacher and former Framingham State Academic Vice President, Arthur Doyle, who died tragically in 2002 as a result of a car accident.

  • Boston Marathon in Framingham

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — Reminders about the Boston Marathon on April 16, 2007:

    • Route 135 will be closed from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM
    • Pearl Street Parking Garage will open at 6:00 AM — No Fee on Marathon Day! — Open garage – cars can enter and leave anytime
    • Trains are running on a normal weekday schedule

    Getting To Downtown Framingham

    Coming from the north or south – The Town of Framingham’s LIFT Public Transit System will operate LIFT bus routes 3 and 6 on Patriots Day allowing many MetroWest area residents to leave their automobiles at home. There will be no charge.

    Coming from the east or west – Take the MBTA Commuter Train into Downtown Framingham.     The Framingham Police Department suggests that you take Public Transportation when possible.

  • Run for Charity and Get a Marathon Number

    FRAMINGHAM, MA — If you want to raise money for a local charity and run in the Boston Marathon on April 16th, you may be able to receive a number from the Hopkinton Athletic Association.

    The HAA has some Boston Marathon numbers available for those who pledge to raise $ 2500 or more for the group’s outreach programs in Hopkinton and MetroWest.

    Charity runners do not have to have meet qualifying times.

  • George Wheeler Cup Soccer Night on Saturday

    11th Annual Event Scholarship Fundraiser
